    Hello, guys and girls.
So, I don't like using porn and masturbation for temporary highs. I don't like watching stupid cuck shit or hentai. I don't like many things PMO has done to me, I feel like a degenerate and no one wants that haha. God dammit dudes... I was on day 5 today. I know relapsing or resetting or whatever isn't something to hang your head over but damn. I jerked my gherkin twice today.

Right now, I'm abstaining from marijuana, cigarettes, too much alcohol, video games, and PMO. I'm going to start going to the gym Thursday or Friday, probably Friday. I'm reading more of my spiritual text. I'm attempting to read a book (I'm finding it difficult to read right now, like I can only sit and read a couple pages at a time.) I'm praying more. I've taken cold showers. I'm searching for work. I need to find work or I'll just end up relapsing.

So, I'm working on shit. I have an optimistic outlook though, I know I'm strong enough to do this. I have a question for the experienced though, how do you not look at porn? Simple as fuck, I know, but damn that temptation is much more prevalent to me now, truly shows how bound I am. Today, both times, I was like "I'll just look a bit..." you know that bullshit, the inevitable follows.

Anyways, I made this account years ago when nofap blew up. Now, I am truly ready. Thank you for reading this, God bless you.

Welcome. Yeah, there's no way around it, PMO just sucks. It feels good for a very short time, but the price you have to pay for it is way too high. Glad you're here. You definitely have full plate right now with trying to turn over a new leaf. Careful though - that energy gets tapped out after awhile and if you don't have something other than willpower to draw on, it's really easy to relapse.

How not to look at porn? The simplest answer is just don't do it. But a more complete answer is:
    - Avoid your PMO "gateways" that will inevitably lead to PMO (scrolling FB etc for hot pics, watching softcore scenes on TV/Netflix/etc)
    - Avoid isolation, be around people. Replace the fake porn world with real life.
    - Find a hobby, something fun that you like to do and can fill your free time with.
    - Avoid screens of any kind as much as possible.
    - Meditate/pray regularly
    - Exercise (in a way you enjoy, not suffering at the gym just to say you did)

Find your reasons that you want to be PMO free. Make a list. Think about what type of man you're going to be when you hit 100 days PMO free. Write down what you like about that guy. Then start being that guy. Even if you have to fake it til you make it. Your recovery has already started brother. You started becoming the man you were meant to be as soon as you closed that last browser tab.

If you haven't already, set yourself a goal - start small and work from there. A good first goal if you don't have a better one would be "Not One Peek Today", meaning that just for today, you will absolutely not even take a peek at porn or porn-subs. When you're just getting started, just worry about one day at a time. You only ever get to a 7 day streak by stringing together a bunch of 1 day streaks.

Also, start a reboot journal if you haven't already. You can use it as a sounding board, a diary, whatever. It helps to have an outlet to share and to drag this nasty little habit out of the shadows and into the light where it will die.

Lastly, forgive yourself if and when you fail, and get back on the wagon. Those red x's in my signature represent my failures in the last 2 months. We aren't perfect, and we aren't expected to be. Just keep coming back here no matter what. Persistence will help keep you on track. Good luck brother, I'm pulling for you!
