    Dear Members,

I have noticed in a study that post orgasmic prolactin increases in normal intercourse four times higher than in an ejaculation from masturbation. This study is supposedly endorsing normal intercourse rather than masturbation.

But, I have a question here. High prolactin is associated with gynecomastia. So, are all prolactin surges in the body are bad? That's because post orgasmic prolactin is higher in normal intercourse. But people addicted to masturbation and pornography are more prone to gynecomastia.

  2. I wondered this myself. I have read that study. I wonder if there are other factors with the prolactin release like how long it affects the man, or how long it takes to dissipate... but either way I definitely feel a huge difference between a masturbation release and a sex release. After the latter I feel calm, relaxed and happy but somewhat lower in energy and mood. After a masturbation release I feel dry, empty, irritated angry and sad and soon want another one

Hello. I agree with what you have mentioned. Also, I believe people abstaining from masturbation and pornography are not exposed to gynecomastia, even if they have normal intercourse. Probably there are two types of prolactin surges in the body. Best of luck.

I don't doubt for a moment that the brain can tell the difference between the two, and I think it can be explained by pheromones. When you orgasm without the presence of female pheromones, your brain can probably figure out that something is wrong. I think this is why there is a big difference between the ratio of hormones released during sex and hormones released during fapping.
