Hey guys I have a problem. When I pmoing I checked my hormones levels: 20.01.2019 Testosterone: 739 (270-820). Prolactin: 22 (2,17-13). Estradiol: 32 (<32). 12.06.2019 (I masturbated with porn every day for hours). Testosterone: 756 (270-820). Prolactin: 18 (2,17-13). Estradiol: 32 (<32). Today I checked my hormonals levels(15 days nofap) Testosterone: 570 (270-820). Prolactin: 9.50 (2,17-13). Estradiol: 30. ( <32 ). Why my Testosterone dropped so much ?! Sorry for my english grammar. I thought my Testosterone levels will increase on nofap :/

What about prolactin? I see that stabilized? What do high levels mean for men?

Btw, just my opinion but i think sex is fine during NoFap, it may increase your testosterone if you have sex and do exercises.

Does dopamine have correlation with Testosterone levels? I think I have low dopamine levels because of edging and watching porn for many years, after 15 days of nofap I got RLS syndrome ( low dopamine levels)

Short answer is yes. Dopamine can increase testosterone and testosterone can increase dopamine. It’s a chicken or the egg problem

I see.. thanks for reply. Do you have any idea how to restore my dopamine levels faster? I practice hard mode 0 edging 0 porn 0 masturbation 0 sex, I taking vit D3, zinc, omega3,. What about tyrosine, meditation, nmda inhibitors, ashwagandha?

Thank you. I'm afraid that my dopamine and receptors never back to normal levels.

  10. I have never seen such an increase in prolactin like that spike of prolactin you got after those PMO those sessions. My prolactin levels were perfectly in range after a PMO binge after a bloodtest (Will attach the bloodwork below). The max range of prolactin is 13 and yours is 22 and 19 after PMOing. Seems like some guys do have some above avarage prolactin levels after orgasm. Or it can be totally unrelated. Prolactin lowers dopamine and testosterone, yet you have lower testosterone levels after your prolactin is lowered. Pretty strange.

My bloodwork after a PMO binge:

    Screenshot_20200206-004628.png

Do you suffer from a lot of stress, bad sleep or nofap withdrawals? This could cause the fall in testosterone because of an increase in cortisol and that could cause low status. Low status, PMO addiction and chronic stress causes less dopamine receptor D2 sensitivity/expression. When your dopamine receptors are densensitized and extracellular levels of dopamine are low. You can suffer from anhedonia, insomnia, depression, low confidence, insomnia and thereby you will not achieve much things. You become inactive, unhealthy and your testosterone will decline.

Winning a match or lottery, being the best in something, setting personal records, getting a girl, getting a promotion. These cause massive dopamine spikes that increase confidence that indirectly release gonadotropin releasing hormone, LH and testosterone and dihydrotestosterone. So yes, there is a correlation between dopamine and steroid hormones.

Normal baseline levels of extracellular dopamine levels in the synapses don't really increase testosterone that much tho. Maybe for some guys on this forum tho. Or people that cured their social anxiety. It's mostly winning, status, success, that can cause intense dopamine spikes and will create higher testo levels because of an increase in status.

People with specific COMT and MAO genes with higher extracellular dopamine levels, can still suffer from low testosterone levels tho. It's not that black and white.

Also, it's never proven with a study that nofap increases testosterone and androgen receptors. Seems like some guys increase testo during PMO use, others increase testo during streaks. Most don't see any corrolation at all. There is this study on the testosterone spike 7 days after the last orgasm. Thats it. For the rest it's just pure anecdotes and speculation.

    What about this study

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/11760788/

  12. Interesting abstract and the 2 page review man. I have to pay 38 euro's for the full book World of Urology man, so I'm not doing that.

It's well known there are major increases in some hormones like testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, LH, prolactin, cortisol, oxytocin, vasopressin and neurotransmitters like monoamines and opioid peptides after sexual satiety.

This abstract only shows the percentages of the increasing hormones. Not if it happens for only 3 weeks long or what happens after those three weeks have gone by. It does not say these hormone levels keep increasing after the 3 weeks during increased abstinence. There is always a plateau, unless you have some hypothalamic, pituitary dysfunction like cancer or hyperprolactinaemia because of an HPA axis dysfunction or because GHB abuse or usage of an high dose atypical anti-psychotic (which block dopamine receptors subtypes (an many others like serotonin receptor subtypes, histamine and many more.)

There always has to be homeostasis regained again in healthy people. If some of these hormones keep increasing months after months because of abstinence, it could become catastrophic for some people and will cause major imbalances in the endrocrine system and all other systems. Every hormone or neurotransmitter should be going back to baseline in healthy people.

I'm excited to read the full book to learn more about what their other conclusions are, but it's about 330 pages long lol.

There are so many dozens of studies and a lot contradict each other hehe.
Like this one about the 7 day testosterone spike after abstinence from orgasm:
    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12659241?dopt=Abstract

This OP guy get's an above average prolactin response after orgams, and when he is abstaining his prolactin indeed goes down. But now his testo levels are lower. He is definitely sensitive for prolactin spikes after orgasms. It's either his genetics, lifestyle or something physiological.

But I also think there must be no real correlation between prolactin and testosterone in his case, because his testosterone levels should at least go up little after his prolactin decreases, because they both work antagonistic.

And his testosterone actually decreased after being on a no PMO streak. So abstinence did not actually higher his test levels but instead decreased it. But as I said, it could be many causes. Cortisol spikes from withdrawal anxiety, insomnia, low status because of low dopaminergic pathway stimulation could lead to lower levels. Testosteron levels fluctuate through the day, his levels dropped some after he started nofap.

Al lot of hypotheses I know. He should keep going to a good endocrinologist to figure out's whats going on with him.

I never had such a prolactin levels after my PMO binges. I will post more blood-work on that. This shows we are all different because of our different genetics and lifestyles.

This needs to be studies a lot more. Especially on us PMO addicts.

I got flatline since yesterday evening. I have anhedonia, brainfog, rls... I'm sleepy and tired asfk... I feeling emotional empty and depressive (sometimes almost cry) 16 days nofap. Maybe flatline lower my testosterone? low dopamine + anxiety = low testosterone.

  14. I'm sure it will, you eat healthy and are checking regularly your hormonal level, I think the problem is Dopamine, you need to find a way to make your mind produce this. Anyway, follow the help of the last guy, meditate... I recommend you Mindfulness meditation.

Testosterone changes daily, depending on a lot of factors. This means nothing, as long as you are in the normal range there is no need to worry about increasing test. Just live a healthy lifestyle and your testosterone will be higher, naturally.

  16. Damn I made a lot of typos in my comment. Must be the brain fog and shitty Ipad 2 combination :)

I think I have been overthinking too much when I made that first comment. (I blame brain fog) I said your testosterone levels were a lot lower, but that was an overstatement. They are just lower but you should not encounter any problem as it's still perfect in the middle range. Testosterone fluctuates every hour, day, week and many factors can contribute to this indeed.

The interesting thing is your prolactin being very off range after you PMO'd. I never had such high levels of prolactin after orgasm when I did a bloodtest. What did your doctor say about this?

Don't focus so much on testosterone, and just quit this porn shit. This is what makes us feel most of us like crap. The messed up dopaminergic mesocorticolimbic pathway caused by overstimulation by artificial stimuli and the withdrawal.

Stop PMO, healthy eating, socializing, bonding, anaerobe and aerobe exercises, less screen time, relaxation time, get 8 hours sleep if possible, no drugs, no refined sugars, meditation/prayer, omega 3 etc. It's been said many times now, so you get the right idea.

I think my prolactine was so high because I fapped every day many times and practiced edging. Low dopamine =high prolactine

Did you start thinning when you were heavily masturbating? Did you get your DHT levels checked?
