Book List [Need Book Suggestions]

  1. I read a book recently called Ego is the Enemy by Ryan Holiday. It actually gave me a lot of insight as to how ego can persuade you to waste your time doing things that you don't necessarily enjoy (such as PMOing). It also introduced me to stoicism.
Another book you can try reading is The Porn Trap by Larry and Wendy Maltz. The book contains lists and strategies which can be easily implemented into real-life. After certain chapters you get evaluations on how badly affected you are by PMO (i.e. a belief scale). This is what encouraged me to start doing some digging into my past to root-out these limiting beliefs and to start planting the seeds for my future.
A book you may be interested in is the 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene. It tells you how power works and how it can be gained, using historical events as anecdotal references. It's a good book to consider if you believe that porn has power over you, which you want to gain back. I'd go easy on the "applying it" part though, it's more suited to business-type scenarios and not to "fapping". I wonder how Robert Greene would respond if you could tell him that you've asociated his book with fapping lol.

  2. Totally agree. PMO and videogames are two addictions created by ego's excesses. These 2 things are not necessarily natural to our lives as humans and NEVER will bring ANY substancial benefit to people itselves, they are just ways that mainstream media use to control and manipulate people.

Im quitting both after years of addiction.

The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday is nice one also. More practical book is The 4-hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss if you are oriented to work on something. Principles by Ray Dalio is fascinating combination of life-long development in personal and work life. I also recommend Psi Spies by Jim Marrs if you like when new perspective challenges existing paradigms.

Whats with all the self help books. Not enough fun fiction. I can’t believe no one likes to read about zombies: "World War Z"

What's the best way to get back into reading? I used to love reading, but I've been very slack with it the last couple of years.
