    Hi all

I've been wanting to read some books for myself... to help me deal with everything i'm feeling every single day. I'd prefer something that isn't heavily religious. I found one and the entire first chapter is bible quote after bible quote. I really can't hang with that much bible. Just wondering if anyone could recommend something for me to help me cope with my husband's PA.

    TIA

  2. Wow coo, so you are here because your husband is a addict? That’s cool

  3. "Your Sexually Addicted Spouse" by Barbara Steffens and Marshall Means. It's very good about helping you understand your feelings and the things that happen with you through this process.

To help you: I know Dr Carnes book on Betrayal is hot amongst the SOs right now. Dr DOug Weiss has a host of books - many PAs seem to also be Intimacy Anorexics (might need to look that up) and he has a book called Married and Alone that might also be beneficial.

You're probably already past this, but just I case:
To help you understand what the F is going on with your husband: read everything on yourbrainonporn.com

and lastly, and probably most importantly - find a friend you can talk to about this. start here on NF with the SOs - they have a section of their own. I know some of them have become good friends and talk on the phone. but at least start an SO journal. read theirs and PM them if that's more comfortable. it will help a lot.

best of luck on this walk through the valley of unexpected darkness and growth

Sorry ilona - my reply was for the original poster.

But I totally commend you for being here as an addict. It takes guts to tackle this problem. Please be serious and address this problem while you're young, and before it wrecks really bad parts of your life and the lives of those you love. Speaking as someone at the other end of life, who also had this problem at your age, I really wish I could have had the guts and the help and the resources you have to lick this problem early.

Don't give up. You can totally do this!!!!
