i thought i had managed to make 6 days of clean PMO. i than looked at my browser history for the last 18 days and found this shocking details:

out of this 18 days, i have relapsed on porn and masturbation for 9 days. half of the time !
i also discovered my highest time without PMO was 3 days.

brain fog is the worst, not only the porn makes me more and more down, i also don't know that something is wrong - because the brain fog doesn't let me remember what i did yesterday.

i have decided to keep a log of all my clean days and update it daily. enough is enough.

Keep written records of your relapses.

You need to know your baseline in order to properly measure behavior change over time and evaluate the effectiveness of a behavioral intervention.

    Try keeping track of:

P = time spent watching porn in minutes (just a estimate)
M = time spent masturbating/edging in minutes (again, a estimate)
    O = number of orgasms

Save those numbers everyday in a spreadsheet or similar.

Once you have enough data, all sorts of interesting things can be inferred from it.

Don't just count days. You need to collect more data.

For a detailed explanation, read Developing Self-Control by Carol Foster, specially Section 2: Measuring Behavioral Change.

i collect data about the date i have did PMO. and the hour i started it. but i don't count how much time i watched it. i find it useless - when i do PMO. i failed anyway.

i see the best way to fight PMO is to avoid it. by using filters. so all the data i collect is focused on this questions: how did i breached the filter ? and when ?

all the rest of the information is not relevant in my opinon.

    what do you think ?

This is just my opinion, but I do think it is important to keep track of the time spent watching it. Watching for 15 minutes is not the same as watching for 6 hours.

You will have a better sense of your progress by being aware of daily, weekly and monthly averages.

Maybe you are still relapsing but if you know that you have watched, let's say, 35% less this month than in the previous month, you will feel more encouraged to keep going. Conversely, if are not tracking this, you may fell like you are back to square one after any relapse, and the sense of hopelessness can lead to even more relapses.

If you don't keep track of the time spent, you may fall in the trap of thinking that since you have relapsed already, you might relapse badly as well. You may tell yourself: "My streak is gone anyway, maybe I should keep watching."

In general, I would say that having the data is better than not having it. Even if you think it is kind of useless, it can't hurt. Can it?

Sip los atracones y las recaídas son algo que analizar, aunque en ese momento, estamos con el espíritu por el suelo, Unos minutos no es lo mismo que pasarse horas en PM o PMO ... Más exposición es más daño a nuestro cerebro ....Alerta !

in theory you might right - the more data the better, but in practice - if you are required to work more and more to collect more data, you will eventually won't collect anything. its just human nature.

also, i can't control how much time i see porn. once i start - it's 99% chance i won't stop until ejaculation. which means that all i track is only my stamina, not my will power. and tracking your stamina is useless.

the only way i can control porn, is by avoiding watching it. and this is where i focus all my data harvesting.

the third reason is that i want to focus on 100% total destruction of my porn habit. which means i am focusing only on the data that removes 100% of porn. and not 50% or 30% . it's about focusing your energy on the right goal.

  10. It's good to do this track record, but don't just think about PMO, because it can be a trigger too!
