Brighten a Room Just By Entering It

Growing up, my dad had a lot of random sayings. For example, if a job was easy but he was sure he could screw it up, he would say, "I could screw-up a two car parade." One of my favorite sayings he had was, "that person could brighten up a room just by leaving it." He often said this when dealing with rude or apathetic customer service reps or family members he butted heads with.

The other day I heard him say that gem and it got me thinking, am I currently living a life where I brighten a room just by entering it? My dad has always been the kind of man that can walk into a room and everyone will know he has arrived without him having to say a word or make a scene. I have been blessed to inherit this gift but porn has had a significant impact on how well that gift flows.

Porn steals my identity as a man and fools me into thinking I have to be jack buff and slightly obnoxious to be accepted by my peers and women. I sit in my dark room, D in hand and phone in the other and have an empty interaction with pixels. This act does not allow me to perfect my gift of brightening a room just by entering it. I know I don't have to go into a lot of details about the effects of porn because we are all in the same boat.

Awhile back, I posted a success story about an amazing night. (https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.p...r-powers-are-the-real-deal.90603/#post-738117) This was the epitome of the ability to walk into a room and command that attention without being an ass clown or having to have biceps as big as Vin Diesel's. Unfortunately, shortly after that night, I reverted back to my old ways. It's frustrating to say the least because I have moments where I command a room and tell myself, "This is the goal. This is one of the main reasons you want to remain porn free."

I travel a lot for work and one of my goals is to talk to as many people as I can. Lyft/Uber drivers, shuttle drivers, flight attendants, front desk agents, etc. Everyone comes from a different walk of life. Some people are great at reciprocating small talk, some....not so much. Instead of going to my room and being tempted to fap, I try and go down to the hotel bar and chat it up with the bartender(s). My hope/goal is to always continue to refine my conversation skills and be the kind of man that people gravitate toward because I brighten a room just by entering it.
