Coffee and arcade games. Where do you live in an 80s movie?:D

  2. I've never had that be awkward. You just say no. Idk why you wouldn't know how to answer that question. The answer is clearly no.

What's more awkward is when someone thinks your boyfriend is your brother. Lol that happened to me once, because he was a little bit younger than me, so everyone just assumed we were brother and sister, and it got real awkward when we started holding hands and stuff.

  3. If this happened to me I would have been really tempted to mess with people’s heads, haha.

It's crazy how many people here are obsessed with what other people think of them. Maybe it comes with the habit? Yeah some people probably see me hang out with one of my female friends and assume we're a couple. So fucking what? Who cares what anybody else thinks? I have a female friend who I see quite regularly for coffee who I am very grateful to have, we nerd it up about games and movies on a regular basis, and she is very much NOT my type, physically. Some people might think we're going out. OH NOOOOOO. So what? What's the big deal??

Fucking EXACTLY. Geez no wonder some of the people here can't stop wanking. :p Lol, OK that was harsh, and I don't mean that. In fact I'd say it's probably the other way around, maybe watching too much porn can make people stop seeing women as fellow humans I guess.

  5. Just out of curiosity, would you also hang out with those female friends in a more personal environment, like your own home? Like hang out together to play games and watch movies with just the two of you alone?

Yes, the one I get coffee with (I don't want to use names, I want to stay anonymous on here) often comes back to mine afterwards, since we get coffee at a cafe near my house. We usually nerd out about Blu-Rays in my collection and sometimes watch dumb YouTube shit, occasionally play some PS4. Usually on a day when my wife is at work, but sometimes when she's home too (she trusts me).

...It's not that weird, guys. It's no different to male friends.

  7. Fair enough, if you are friends with a female who is not your type and there isn't any strong sexual attraction, then that makes sense.

Of course, I have many female friends who I talk to at school, and I have an extremely beautiful female best friend. Many of the people assumed we were dating though, haha.

A couple of my female friends I do find attractive... I still only think of them as friends. One is married, which I guess helps, and the fact that I am also married helps with the other. Without that I guess there would be a potential to consider wanting to give it a shot, but can you not be friends if you don't end up dating?

By this logic, bisexual people couldn't have ANY friends.

  10. Bisexual people are never 50/50 yeah but nice argument

Yeah, it's like a sliding scale, but if you're attracted to both sexes (by whatever measure) and you can't be friends if you have attraction to said person's sex then by the logic some people in here have, that would mean bi people can't have any friends.

  12. I agree with you mostly, I think it's all a really individual thing. Being in a relationship, I personally would keep my distance from anyone I am also, maybe not predominantly, sexually attracted to because sexual attraction is part of my romantic commitment to one person. But that's just me. And indeed, bisexual people would not be able to have any friends by that logic. Although like @Fehr says, they might be either more sexually attracted to women than men or vice versa.

It's all individual. I can keep strong connections with the opposite gender without sex, because we're all real people with emotions. I also have some female friends I can also have sexual relations with as well. Humans aren't just black and white when it comes to social dynamic even though it could seem that way.

  14. I completely agree with you, I never said male and female social interactions are only limited to primitively procreate with each other. With individual thing I was referring to the fact that the degree of attraction, romantic or sexual, in a male-female friendship is very individual and will impact the balance of platonic feelings and sexual/romantic feelings.

My bad, I was actually quoting you because I agree with you and wanted to add on. That post by Elliot has some flaws to his points.

  16. Ha, that's funny. #awkward... I've had it multiple times where people thought me and my mom were married at restaurants and things, they just assume (She still looks pretty young lol). Then if my younger sister is with me they sometimes think she's my kid.

They'd have to find asexual friends.

Is there a big age difference between you and your sister? Or do you look a lot older than you really are? I would assume it would have to be something like the to have your sister mistaken as your daughter.

  19. Both, my sister is 10 years younger than me and i look a little older than i am.
