Can normal sex also "escalate"?

As in can it escalate to more extreme stuff and eventually non-conforming forms of sex like gay or fetish sex (if they're originally straight)?

The reason I ask is because I've heard of a number of celebrities and rich, well-connected people who go to orgies and sex parties and eventually start doing stuff that clearly doesn't conform to their (now evaporated!) sexual orientation. After years of (real life) orgies and gang bangs, they start indulging in fetishes like (gay) oral sex while watching lesbians have sex and sometimes even weirder stuff like domination and humiliation involving multiple genders. Some seriously f*cked up shit that clearly doesn't indicate a natural sexual orientation whatsoever (imagine getting off on throwing cash at whores and prostitutes both male and female lol).

But they're not porn addicts, strictly speaking, and the things they do is always with real life sex partners (well, ok, maybe partners isn't the word lol maybe subjects is more accurate).

Can (real) sex addiction bring about the same brain changes as porn addiction (morphing sexual tastes, ED, DE, etc)?

    Yes.
Anything u do just for pleasure escalates.
Anything u do to connect, never escalates.

odds are those "number of stories" of people going to so many orgies and sex parties that they decide to start sucking cock while watching lesbian sex are not real.

But yes, some people do things due to curiosity, peer pressure, or simply feeling safe enough to try something they've wanted to but hid from public.

Oh they're real, trust me (a lot of them anyway).

  5. Yup, agree. Like Richard Gere and the hamster . . . that was total escalation.

  6. Yes. It can escalate. Quickly and sometimes without warning. I was the victim of another person's escalation. What started as a "mild" fetish turned to the extreme in the blink of an eye.

  7. Dont forget about how much drugs can be at these sex parties. Every type imaginable where they lose total control and do stuff they wouldnt normally do.

Worst combination is porn addiction sex addiction and drug addiction. Your body and mind are totally destroyed.

  8. Do not be so sure about this.

Hard agree. I took multiple folklore classes at uni and learned most "common knowledge" stories like this are popular but not real. We love to repeat stories about hero/status worship, salacious rumors about sex/violence, and stuff that preys on our basic fears. Stories like Gere and the hamster nail all three, are inherently believable because they involve high status people who are capable for manifesting their darkest fantasies, and are virtually unfalsifiable. Folklorists often research and trace the same story back through decades, even centuries, applied to various individuals or people groups but containing the same details and phrases. Almost guaranteed the Gere story is derived from some rumor about Nero or Caligula.

This, however, is a first hand account. Usually a folkloric story is repeated second or third hand, from a cousin or a friend. No offense to Jag45, but it could still be false. People like the controversial American Sniper Chris Kyle have co-opted popular folklore stories and claimed they applied directly to them, because it appeals to their narcissism. If we really wanted to know if his story was real, we'd interview Jag45 and compare his details and phrasing to others floating around popular channels, in modern context, mostly Reddit. I wouldn't ask him to do that, though, out of respect for him and his possible trauma, and out of respect for the general community and our vulnerability to triggers into unwanted thoughts and behaviors. I'd simply file it under "more likely to be true" and leave it there.

That is a relevant point. One of the few women executed for murder in Texas testified that, under the influence of a cocktail of drugs, she O'd while killing another woman with a pickax during a robbery gone wrong. On death row she got clean of drugs and became serious about her Christian faith, and it was evident to all who knew her that the violent and hypersexual behavior was so far outside her baseline personality it was if she were a completely different person. Despite strong protest through proper channels from the prison warden, the judge refused to stay her execution. It was one of the main cases that led that same warden to retire and advocate against the death penalty.

Don't do drugs, kids. Or at the very least, be careful about what you take, how much you take, where you take it and who you take it with. That applies especially to alcohol, a fair bit to weed, but I'd avoid the harder stuff entirely.

Forget about folklore. I'm talking political scandals of high-profile corrupt princes and royal shitholes in the Middle East and parts of Africa, things many of them are sent to jail for (at some point they were stupid enough to indulge these acts on holiday therefore at places beyond their jurisdiction) and for which there are first-hand accounts and witnesses and even court rulings.

These are the kind of people who start courting whores and prostitutes since early adolescence (like 11 years old or something), and they don't usually take no for an answer, and for an obvious reason. They start with "straight" sex parties but eventually (and rather quickly, probably due to drugs) start courting all sorts of weird stuff.

One of them went so mad he only started courting female prostitutes because he enjoyed them watching him have threesome with two other men. It wasn't about having sex with dudes or girls, it was about having sex with as many people and genders at the same time in the most twisted way.

This is exactly how porn escalation works: from one extreme to another.

Courts have a high standard, so if those are reported by respected news sources and/or the court records are public, it's legit.

I didn't mean to cast doubt on the idea that real life sex addiction can escalate, just the notion of unverified rumors about popular celebrities.

I guess that even if they engage in orgies and sex parties, doesn't mean they don't watch porn as well. Escalation could come from personal porn consumtion and then replicating in real life
