I'm trying to quit PMO again. It's the nth time and I have failed severely in the last couple of months, especially after I lost the woman I loved. Increased my alcohol intake more than ever this year and countless nights without sleeping.

I've tried to write about my situation and I can't always find the words. I'm curious about brain fog and if someone else is experiencing it. I know it's related to the PMO habit, the alcohol, eating unhealty and my screwed-up sleeping schedule, but I wanted to know if there are some medicine that help ease this terrible symptom.

This God damn, unbearable brain fog is one of the reasons for my depression and loss of purpose. Those who experienced it know that I am talking about.

Anyone out there that had success in fixing it? I had my thyroid checked and it's not from there. I know that I need to get my shit together and fix everything.

I just wanted someone to acknowledge the suffering of a brain fog or if there's someone who has it, how he or she deals with it. Thanks.

Brain fog goes away on its own. The best cure that i know of is to get the blood flow going through your body by exercising on a constant basis. Eat healthy and drink lots of water. This fog WILL go away eventually. Just keep on doing all the right things!

Also this brain fog also goes hand in hand with withdrawl. I had it really bad when i used to smoke weed and watch porn heavily. It seems terrible right now i know but to be honest you have to not focus on your emotions and feeling because they are extremely deceptive.

Unfortunately no med is out there! If any doc tries to prescribe something, run away. It is all behavioral modification. You know exactly what to do! Stay strong brother.

I have tried everything trust me!
The only thing that worked for me was heavy exercise in this case running for about 30 to 45 minutes i wasn't running the whole time but i pushed myself as hard as i could then i stopped and caught my breath and then i started again for 30 or 45 minutes. It's not easy and not everyone can do it because it's hard and it depends on your body's physics too,if it can take it or not. However i did it and when i got home i took a shower and the brain fog was gone or gone enough that i could easily focus and study which i hadn't for a few weeks at least. But it should be excessive and heavy running and you gotta push your limits. It gets the blood flowing to the brain

Try something called grounding. At least 2h per day for you. You luck electricity, meditate at least 20/day and workout, plus nofap. It will go away soon

I had some very chilled orange juice and that helped. Also exercise helps. I prefer to read and though my mind was running everywhere, I kept on telling myself: just five more pages. Just five more.

  10. First of all, get some help on that alcohol if it becomes a problem on your daily life. As for my experiences, I would recommend fulfilling the Nofap goals, stay away from drugs, a healthy lifestyle: lifting, running, adequate sleep, and good diet. Try some L-Tyrosine and Nootropics. It really helped me.

I'm going through all that as well. It's not easy, specially if you want to do everything natural but I stay possitive. As everyone else is saying, more good habits and follow the good advice of the NoFap community.

Thanks everyone for replying. I'm a complete mess, because of this never-ending vicious circle: masturbation - fucked up sleeping schedule - alcohol - poor diet - lack of exercise - brain fog. Hell, I even think right now about relapsing.

I find it very hard to motivate myself. I've lost most of my purposes in life, I am severely depressed and I remember that more than a year ago (when the brain fog started), I was somewhat happy and had perspectives. These years of drinking and fapping, plus the other wrong things in my life, have completely ruined me.

I feel lonely. But I will not relapse. I am gonna head for bed and not think about this powerful, yet stupid urge. Thanks once again for trying to help me.

Its now been 2 days since I watched any porn and masturbated to it. My brain is fogged so badly these days because I suffer from GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder). I can understand to some extent what you are going through. I hear people on this post talking about exercise, hydration, etc. and I know from my experience that they help. However, my brain fog is so dense at the moment that I am paralyzed by my anxiety and cannot get moving. I just want to retreat, watch porn and masturbate. I am new to NoFap and I tried abstinence a few months back, but wasn't successful. I've decided to try it once more. It's been 2 days so far and I'm really scared about my future with my job, family & financial commitments and what my life will be if I stick with PMO.

Exercise works for me.no matter which day i am on.day 1 even.I run for 30 mins and after a hour or so the brain fog goes away and i can do whatever i want to do like studying.just not smooth and fun running(!)push yourself a little bit so that you feel a little pain until you can't run and walk and then run and so on.

I have been on NoFap with no drinking, or smoking anything for about 2 weeks now and my mind and body feel clearer than ever. I have started reading, keeping a good schedule, working out daily, Being able to put priorities first, I have approached so many females with almost no social anxiety and have been on a few dates and hangouts, I have handed in a shit load of resumes and finally got a job again. Everybody is different bro, BUT the fog will start to fade and go away. I would say about 2 weeks until you start noticing results. NoFap works guys!

  18. I had terrible brain fog too. It was so bad that i fell from the top 10 in my class to the bottom and lost my dream college. I felt even worse when it happened because it was the first time i had taken responsibility for my life and started applying myself when out of nowhere(well, not nowhere)brainfog came and ruined it. Since then i have come a long way. It's not completely gone but it has significantly improved. I can only share what worked and works for me.

Fair warning: Most of the advice might be something you already know and have heard.
    1.Running and exercise
I try to wake up each day (minus Sunday) and run about 4-6 kms and stretch and do chin-ups.
    As this guy below said
I tried doing it the easy way but it wasn't beneficial until i was pushing it little by little.
Running improves my blood circulation and makes me feel stronger overall, especially in my legs. I do pull ups for the arms. I tried skipping alone at home and it was good but not good enough. I even tried a few so called pills that were supposed to help but in the end i found running and exercising the only way. When i am physically well, i feel mentally well.

    2.Meditation
No kidding, it works. However, you have to really put your mind to it. I do it 15 mins before sleeping and after waking up as this is the time the brain is most receptive to input

    3.Improve your diet
Eat memory boosting foods . For me, it was almonds and other nuts. Look them up. Also, eat overall healthy. More veggies, milk and fruits in your diet.

    4.Mindfulness
With brainfog the brain feels superfucked, which it is. It has a tendency to go into overdrive and burn its wheels out. If not that you will feel super-slow,lethargic, have poor memory and feel sad. Practice mindfulness (look it up). It genuinely works.

    5.NO PMO
Quit NOW. If you feel you've hit the worse trust me, you haven't. Brain fog is the edge of the cliff. STOP NOW.
I wish i could've answered you in a more detailed manner but i am short on time. If you feel the need, message me. Believe me, if i can reduce brainfog and by this stuff anyone in the entire universe can.

    @Ray Breslin
Thank you for your input. You've got some solid advises in your post and I appreciate them. I will not PMO at any cost. This has got to stop, as I'll do my best to implement the other changes along. But no PMO whatsoever. Not even thinking of relapsing.
