Can we choose to not abstain from sex?

    I mean I guess it is obvious that we can do whatever we want, I just think that for me personally sex has helped me get away from porn and develop more of an emotional connection with my sexuality. Of course there's also "getting off" sex which probably is not super helpful. Just thinking about it.

    I think the essential thing is about channelling our sexuality, our libido, in a healthy way, and here a healthy way has to mean moderation. An out of control libido may want to have as much sex as possible, whether simulated and stimulated, or with real woman; a restrained libido will look to find that special woman and make a steady girlfriend... and possibly more. So in answer to your question, I don't think there are any hard and fast rules here; it is more about getting your libido under control, or in other words, subjugating it to your rational desire [will].     I think it makes the transition easier but there can be some associated carryover temptations. I think it's the PMO you really need to get rid of and if real physical relationships help you do that then all the better. Doing it without, Hard mode, might have its advantages but it does sound aptly named, hard. Good luck.
