It will soon be two years for me... I go on 1-2-3 months long streaks and sooner or later I always end up back here. Back on this freaking forum to deal with a problem I thought was already sorted.

I feel like this illness will be with me forever... everywhere I go. It might sleep for years, but is ready to strike again. I'm tired of always having to keep my guard up. No rest. EVER. The moment you lower your shield - you are back here. Fuck this shit.

People can't dump ciggaretes. Tell them to dump THIS fucker. You have a choice of not buying ciggs. P is so easily accesible it's ridiculous. I could be 3 years old and jerking it.

    Fuck it. I'm done.

If you answer, "No -- we will never be free," then you're right.

But if you answer, "Yes, we can, and we will be free," then you're also right. For me, things like this always come down to having a positive perspective.

    Good luck on your journey.

If you keep going on streaks thinking if you hold it out long enough you will be cured, then you will always end up back here because you fail to realize that you keep looking for love/relieve/good-feeling etc. in a phone screen made out of pixel images. We live in a time where the technology gives us almost everything in a second. You want love? Look at a screen. You want social interaction? Look at a screen. You want to play with friends? Look at a screen. You want to play games? Look at a screen. Everything is digitalized and not tangible.
The moment you realize that we should not get our needs out of a damn digital screen but look for the real thing in the real world, and I'm saying REALLY get it into your system, that's when the streaks don't matter anymore and you will be cured.

  4. People who "kick" substance abuse habits never stop being addicts. Yes, you will have to keep your guard up and change the way you live, but can you tell me that this is actually worse than the total of a full on PMO addiction that is indulged?

Are there not improvements you have made to your life through attempting to reboot that are worth the continuous effort?

These are not rhetorical questions, I genuinely await your answer Verhart. All the best.

Classic “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right.” I appreciate that.

It's more 'getting back to normal' rather than improvements. But yes, of course. I think with porn it's like with alcohol. Once you're alcoholic, you're one for life. You can't drink a single beer. You can't watch a single video.
