    Hello all!

I have stayed away clean from fapping for several months. ANd now i can confirm it has affected my self esteem and drive in general (not only sex drive, but also career drive).

I feel more socially confident and much less anxcious.

My problem is that because of decades of fapping to porn, i was stuck in a quite "semi-low-pinhole" job. Now i feel a strong urge to climb the career ladder a bit and I feel much more ambitious than ever.

I cannot stand my current job. I feel i deserve something much better. My job and career choice was an effect of masturbation, and it only reminds me of that.

Anyone there with similar experiences? How did you change/improve career? What is the best first step?

    regards
    Mdz

I feel the same, I've gone to school but pretty much wasted my time and I've got the same job I've had since I was in Junior year of high school. And one I've hated and wanted to quit for years. This is very much a personal journey, and one I've got to walk myself, but an amazing resource I've found is a podcast called "Your Do Over." It's really helpful after or during NoFap since because this kind of is like starting your life over, and that's what his podcast helps people to do. He's also got a website, just do a search for Your Do Over and you'll find it.

PMO destroyed my career and I'm also trying to rebuild. My experience was I had career success, but then went into addictive pattern and it imploded through loss of motivation, focus, and self confidence. However, before addiction took over, I was able to successfully rebound from a couple of stuck jobs with the following:

    1. Make sure your resume is current. This small step is important when opportunities appear.
    2. Network with lots of people. You would be surprised how acquaintances and friends may have connections.
    3. Do informational interviews. Basically pick a job you'd like to do. Find someone doing that job. Ask them if they would be willing to just to meet even for coffee just to share more about how they got the job, what it is like, what skills do you need and advice. You'd be surprised how many people agree to this (they feel flattered someone is asking) and sometimes people will refer you to real jobs.
    4. Exercise, eat, and sleep better to keep yourself motivated and healthy.
    5. Don't worry if you get job rejections. Just keep going. You just need 1 yes for a job. Doesn't matter how many say no.

Good luck and your ambition inspires me too!

@CheshireCat2323: Thanks for the "Your Do Over" suggestion. I just downloaded a podcast and am looking forward to it.
