Celibacy

Hey Climber,
One definition of celibacy is foregoing all sexual activity for a certain period of time (that is my goal at age 21--that my next orgasm will be on my wedding night [wet dreams not included]). Here, "sexual activity" also includes fantasizing, edging, etc. For those contemplating marriage, dating and romantic feelings don't break their celibacy.

Another definition includes all the above, but extends it till death, like for priests, nuns, and some others. This also means no romantic behavior like dating (not including truly platonic friends) or doing any activity which has a better than even chance of being arousing.

As I said, I am a virgin (except for past PMO), and waiting to give my entire self, no strings attached, to the right woman on our marriage night.

I am thinking also to celibate. I feel that my path seems to be more spiritual but I am still have my doubts. All this it could be just a phase that my brain walk through or maybe I am trying to escape of some psychological patterns (I have read that it could be true except if you are a priest, monk, etc). Until I clear these, I want to stay away from porn, masturbation and sex because I think that the positives are more than negatives.

I want to be 100% sure if I choose to celibate in my entire life.

There are some positive effects to sex that I feel are needed by most people, celibacy would be something that can come easy for asexuals. I haven't had sex with a women for 4 years and it'll be almost 5 years after this year, but that was merely by choice not cause I can't pull an random average girl to sleep with in a nightclub or in a coffee shop. I feel like I'm somewhere inbetween wanting quality over quantity and not caring at all, with that being said getting into a relationship with no sex is a bad deal for any man. Right now I choose Seamen retention and thats how I'd like to put it, another way I'd like to put it is "Sexual Transmutation" I've been reading up on it and its something I've always practice, I just didn't know that it was a real thing. I do believe I'd like companionship later on in my life to share some of myself with, but right now you can say I am celibate for a greater purpose. I feel stronger than I was when I was wasting my energy intbetween the last time I had sex till I started nofap... fapping was a better alternative to having sex with women cause its less of a hassle but in the long run fapping with do more harm. I'm not sure if this comment is relevant to this post but it was thoughts that came up when I saw it.

My reasons are my religious beliefs. My interest is toward men. As a Catholic, I believe that behavior to be sinful.

I respect of what you are saying and of course I respect the reasons of why you choose celibacy. Spirit has no sex, neither male or female, so I don't believe in sins. Sins are a wonderful technique to produce fears to the crowd.

Good and bad are meanings that exists inside of us and they are totally different in the people. What you think is bad can be right for me, because we raised in different cultures, countries, beliefs, philosophies, etc. In some countries it is acceptable to eat dogs but in others not. In some countries it is unacceptable the gay people where in others the marriage between the same sex are allowed.

If someone choose to celibate because the belief system is forces someone to do this, it can be a problem, because it is a suggestion that the individual choose not to make conscious choices. You know what I mean?

 

I'm attempting celibacy for the 90 day challenge, as a Buddhist, and I will decide if it something I want to continue afterwards. It seems silly beginning celibacy with a vow, unless you want to be a monk.

Unfortunately, I've noticed celibacy makes you noticeably more attractive to women... women love detached men.

 

That's the goal. I honestly want to wait till marriage.

 

I'm celibate, but not for any religious or marriage-related reason. Sex just isn't part of my lifestyle right now. I'm gay, and the hookup scene is not appealing to me, so I'll stay celibate until I find a boyfriend (though looking for one is not a big priority for me right now).

Yes I am celibate. I am trying to uproot the act of masturbation entirely, as well as elimination of viewing non-nude erotica (not to speak of the heinous dehumanizing kraken that is porn). Celibacy Quest Update

I am pursuing celibacy for both personal moral reasons and also sublimation and transmutation of sexual energy purposes.

But for people who have never experienced it and had exceptionally satisfying sex, then of course the curiosity and desire to have sex is strong and natural. Mass media has twisted mainstream society's view of sex so viciously I feel a need to straighten it back out in this thread.

My Father is rich. He read Napolean Hill's classic Think and Grow Rich when he was younger. Is that how he got rich? Hahaha no, wealth comes from past deeds of giving, everything is cause and effect, what you reap is what you sowed in the past. Yes he has an amazing work ethic and interpersonal skills and became a master at playing the stock market, but what he has materially he lacks spiritually. He has a very powerful sex drive which I inherited, for better or worse. I am aiming towards spiritual riches and awakening however as I am disheartened at how short human life is in our world plus most of life is just suffering with moments of pleasure and satisfaction thrown in during periods of respite.
