celibate yogis ,ascetic hermits who do SR for decades can influence world events?

do you think people who do strictest semen retention -no wet dreams, no indulging on sex thoughts- somehow reach a level power,where they can influence world events?
even if no one knows it? for example I myself wouldnt be aware of it...but maybe its happening.
maybe the living sages and ascetics of today keep the world from being 100x times worse than it is now?
