If you want to stop urges you need to remove the brainwashing in your head, namely that orgasms are the most important thing in life.

 

But in case you're serious. No chastity cage is not a good idea. It does the exact oposite of what you want to achieve. It drags all your attention to sex and orgasm and stuff...
And from my experience - no tool - whether its chastity device or website blocker - can really help. It easily evolve from obstacle to challenge and make you crave even more. No the only way is determination and positive mind.

 

Have a chaste MIND instead, learn to live with the urges and do not act on them, observe your thoughts like scientist would, become the world's greatest urge surfer, enjoy the ride, the fun is NOT to fall off the board, keep your mind clean, chaste your habits, don't harm yourself, do not harm others. And have fun living a fulfilled life.

 

Haven't tried it but would not expect this to work (for abstinence).

You're still going to feel horny but instead of erections you'll get prostate swelling, and your next post will be about dildos and whether anal stimulation is cheating

Just keep your hands slathered with hand sanitizer. That will discourage touching.

 

This is my insight...

I quit porn without telling my partner. We are long distance so my circumstances are slightly different.

The benefits of no PM have been amazing. Without wasting all of my sexual energy on digital dopamine, I channeled it towards my partner. Within 30 days she started looking a lot more beautiful (unexpected but very welcome), my erections started getting stronger, my dick started looking thicker and longer, and my libido was on the up. That was enough for me to decide that porn and masturbation is no longer something that I am interested in.

Interestingly between day 30 and 60 I told my partner that I had quit porn and that I was now totally chaste when we are apart. I told her that by channeling all of my sexual energy towards her our sex life had become better and I explained the benefits I had noticed in quitting masturbation. We decided to give a female led relationship a go. So far we both love it. Chastity play has come into play and we have started playing around with it and really enjoy it. So my advice is...

Being in chastity and a relationship, doesn't mean that you are not allowed orgasms. It just means that your partner gets to decide when you orgasm. I am having more and better sex now that I am chaste, than I have had in the previous 6 years of our relationship and I am really enjoying seeing my partner so satisfied from all of this. Our sex life has got a lot better.

The problem I see in putting yourself in chastity to try and stop masturbation is that it will make it a lot more challenging. Technically you won't be able to masturbate, but it takes time to get used to the weight of it and finding the right cage for you. Wearing a cage will be a daily reminder of what you are trying to quit and it will eventually destroy your motivation. You could end up putting a lot of pressure on your wife too. I don't think it would be fair on your wife to have to deal with your porn addiction. You won't be able to cum with the same frequency and liberty you do with a porn addiction and you might get very resentful of the one person holding the key to your sexual liberation.

If you can however quit porn and masturbation on your own then adding a chastity cage to play will be a lot of fun.

I tried these devices twice. The first one was one piece made of silicone, and while the device was quite bulky, the opening for the penis was too small, and I didn’t manage to stuff it in. The second one was made of metal and way too heavy to be wearable. I threw both of them away.

I think the basic idea is not bad, to provide an additional hurdle. If you feel the urge to masturbate, you would have to unlock them first. So this gives you additional time to think twice. But if their design is not practical, they are nothing but ridiculous sex toys.

At the moment I’m wearing jean shorts at night and tighten them up with a belt. This seems to work so far.

Some were better than others. Ultimately I threw all of them away besides one - a stainless steel cage called "the Pen". This one works best for my short (average girth) penis and small flaccid size and doesn't weigh too much.

The polycarbonate ones like the cb-2000 (and 3000 and 6000-s, I tried all three) would appear to be the best ones out there, but I find that the plastic sticks to skin. Steel does not. I highly recommend a steel cage and did not find the weight to be an issue at all.

 

I would advise against it, simply because there is a correlation between chastity cage use and erectile dysfunction.

 

Good point. I think 24/7 wearing can be exceptionally dangerous.
I only wear mine during emergencies now. Once a week at most, for a few hours. I do not have ED, but I do suspect that wearing a chastity device made my penis smaller (4 1/2 inches fully erect, down from almost 5).

 

Hi. New here. I have read all your posts and am respectful of everyones opinion, whether mine is the same or different. On this subject I would consider myself a bit of an expert, but only in the sense of experience, not to minimize the thoughts and feelings of others.

I am no fan of PMO. Period. Not gonna budge on that for myself. The PM a clear No. The O is subjective. Call me a purist but, a man and woman get married and provide what they can sexually for each other together, would be my only explanation of the appropriate O.

To me, any other O, would be a NO.

That said, if you found yourself in my position, you may find reason to open your mind to what it takes to maintain your firm moral stand, and disallow anything to disrupt that firm stance on your personal moral ground.

I immediately began to feel the relief. So much desire for sex had produced tension and anxiety in my body and mind. For the first time, I was no longer fighting alone. I continued to use the cage and am using it now, with over 5 years of continuous use. For me, it is really working. Even my doctor is pleased and knows and supports me on this.

Some may feel that I may be using it so I don't have to develop self-control. I say that it has been a boost to my effort to develop self control. My wife is happier because she can be free of the feelings of inadequacy and self imposed guilt because of not being able to care for my needs. I have a libido that is more in control because of my shift in mind set over my situation.

I understand the skepticism by some, but I think that, like anything else, setting aside the cage for a moment, it is all in your attitude, perspective, and your goals.

Denouncing the cage itself, without giving consideration to these things, is the same as saying that a computer is bad and no one should have one becuse you can look at porn on it. Yet, you can also get an education on it, as well as do many other productive activities.

It's not the device. In my case it is not. I needed it and still use it as a protection for my body and mind, that I will not revert to my selfish thinking and actions that plagued me. I am caged, yet I experience the freedom that many here are desiring to have.
