I have been on my NoFap journey for nearly 3 years and I haven't taken a cold shower at all. I have read and heard stories of the benefits that you get from taking cold showers but I have always been afraid to do it. There are probably countless tips and strategies on here for beginners but some practical steps towards getting started would be helpful.

  2. Well, keep in mind that the purpose of taking cold showers is to build willpower. Your willpower can be worked like a muscle so the more you do things you're afraid of, the easier it gets in the future.

Just get in there, turn the water as close to the off position as possible while still getting water pressure. Make it as cold as possible. Then take a shower no differently than you normally do. Try not to focus on how cold it is. The hardest part will be the first moment you jump in. It will be cold at first but about 10 or 20 seconds in you will get used to it and it will be cold but fine. It won't kill you, it won't hurt you, it's nice and healthy. ;)

    Best wishes! You got this!

In summer could probably be a good idea, but in winter you would get a could. My trick is to workout when I feel excited. The testosterone accumulated repair very quickly the muscle. This is other benefit of no MPO :)

  4. Winter is the best time to start baby. ;)

Remember, if it was easy everyone would do it. But we're the few that go beyond ourselves and quit PMO to live better lives!

For me cold showers are about getting out of my comfort zone. I stand there and look into the nozzle and say "hey name of the girl" I like. Then I turn on the water to coldest setting and say "would you want to hang out sometime?"

It has a lot of benefits, but for me it's about jumping in and not being afraid like in social situations. Fear causes hesitation and hesitation causes your worst fears to come true. Even as a beginner I think coldest setting is fine, but maybe start off by doing it at the very end of a regular hot shower.
