Hey Brothers, made my first week which i am feeling pumped about!

In a good place, have made a habit of meditating 15mins everymorning and been doing that the past 2 months which has helped me a lot.

I truly believe that it is what we do outside of just abstinence from PMO that makes or breaks a recovery. We cant expect much change in our mood and happiness if we just binge junk food and video games, so well done @ForceMaster we getting that run in!

My goals are to eat a healthier diet and start pilates - I get bad back pain from my job so hopefully this will sort it

    Keep fighting

    Hey guys!

I have been watching porn since I was 12-13 years old and I'm now 29. I've been struggling with quitting porn for about five years now. My best no porn streak was actually a whole year, but even then you can derail, and I actually never managed to reach that level again.

Now I've not been actively dating for more than a year and got a bit out of the game, and instead my porn use has gone way up. Especially now over the holidays and on top being in quarantine, I really started to use again quite intensely and in an unhealthy fashion (e.g. one night until 5am). This last time half an hour ago I wasn't even hard any more but still kept going.

At the same time I am starting to date somebody and am getting really worried about PIED (which I've had in the past). In a weird way, I think that I am probably self-sabotaging, because I *know* that porn use causes PIED in my body.

My goal now is to do a proper reboot with no PMO for as long as possible to make sure I got a shot with this girl. In other words, I want to be an active participant in my (sex) life, not just a spectator alone at home.

It's my first time joining any kind of forum for porn addiction. I would like to find some accountability partners because I know I can't do it alone. How does this work here? Do you all just post into this thread?

    THX!

Hey guys, great to see that this is starting back up - props @Halibut! I'll give more of a summary of my journey soon - I was part of this AP group in a previous iteration with Halibut, but I'm doing decently well. I think I am going through some withdrawal right now - its been close to 10 days for me since I PMO'd - and normally around this time - my anxiety goes through the roof and I feel grumpy and get headaches. I need to work hard to persevere through this - because these feelings often lead me to looking hard for P - and I often feel that doing so relieves some of this tension (unfortunately). But, I then just restart the cycle. So I'm going through it now and am hopeful to fend off going back to this comfort - which I just don't want in my life forever. Excited to hear how everyone is doing!

Hey @pourover24 - keep going! What could be other ways to reduce your headache and to improve your mood and reduce anxiety? For me, what sometimes helps is doing something that makes me proud of myself, e.g. going for a walk, exercising or taking a cold shower.

I had a wet dream last night, but I'm guessing it doesn't count. I didn't experience an orgasm, anyway.

Feeling increased temptation after my "dream". Is this normal? It was only the second wet dream I've ever had.

Great to see the energy and contribution going off on this group again - its coming back to life!!

I'm an ambulance driver and lifting heavy people has done my back in aha - Im quitting porn to give me all that good feel energy to go out and put that good energy to helping people

Hey Michael, im doing ok - just come off my shifts and have a week off now so grateful for that, I have been feeling the withdrawals and feeling not exactly low but just without energy. I know this happens pretty much in the first couple of weeks so im not worried at all - just got to knuckle down and get through it. I have noticed a lack of anxiety and the shame and guilt which comes after a relapse has died down and pride is now people built in its place!

Feeling pumped to have the first 10 days down - lets gooo!

Hey @active participant in life it sounds like you have some great experience in dealing with porn addiction, going a year without porn is an amazing achievement

In terms of PIED - I had this with my ex and she was beautiful. It made me feel less of a man. Even one heavy pmo session could send me back to PIED. I found that I could rectify this within about 40days PMO free - completely clean - no instagram, searching facebook - nothing. I think, like you say - a lot of it is nervous thinking that you will get ED when presented with having sex. But I found that around 40 days you are settling into the porn free habit and you are proud of how far you have come and a lot of that anxiety goes away

In this thread we are here to support eachother in achieving our goals and if you set a daily counter I can add you to the group leaderboard and you can use that as a motivating factor to keep your streak as I update it regularly.

Just post on here at least once a week to stay in the group - happy posting!

Hey @pourover24 great to see you back man, I feel like I am in a similiar situation to you right now and feeling those withdrawals - Im not feeling any particular urges - just flat.

We know that things do get better with time - I know in just a few weeks I will be in a much better place. And whats few weeks? Lets go into 2021 with nearly 2 weeks under the belt

Feeling proud of yourself cannot be underestimated - I always seem to relapse on a day where I am bored and unproductive and for that reason feel guilt and like crap.

I have found that on those days where you feel like doing nothing its best to build momentum slowly.
Tell yourself you are going to wash one plate in the sink. Not hard, you get there and think I may as wash the rest of the stuff in the sink, then you think, well I may as well dry them - put them away - clean the rest of the kitchen while I am at it - go out shopping as you have noticed the cupboards are looking empty and you are away...

Every task you then cross off makes you more and more motivated and proud of yourself and before you know it you have had no time to relpase

Wet dreams DONT COUNT. Do not overthink a wet dream this is normal and a sign of recovery.

If wet dreams become quite common I find cutting out fantasising close to bedtime helps as you tend to carry those thoughts in your dreams. Fantasising actually arouses your body - giving you that 'high' feeling that your brain is addicted to so is best avoided.

Completely normal. Any arousal / orgasm / wetdream can produce a chaser effect. As the high feeling has been felt recently - stay strong any be extra careful the next few days
