The most promising strategy to keep away from seeking stimulation through porn is by providing it other ways - for example hobbies that you enjoy - they keep you fit, mentally strong, help you socialize and expand your horizon.

Only rule - suggest only hobbies or ways to spend your time that you have significant first hand experience with - not stuff you saw somewhere or did once - only what you do for real.

    Sailing
If you life close to a large lake or the sea then chances are that you have the opportunity to either do sailing or to learn it there. It's fascinating to move in a controlled fashion by means of the wind. It also offers a great place to think and reflect.

    Scuba Diving
Learning to scuba dive or doing it helps you to gain a different perspective on the world.

    (Free) (Rock) Climbing
Best way ever to free your mind from your worries by focusing 100% on what you are doing - otherwise you'll fall and that might be painful. Also a great way to confront fears and to work out.

    Salsa Dancing
Great way to socialize, to meet girls and to fine tune your motorics and senses.

Beekeeping - You have to stay present and move with a certain slow energy that doesn't disturb them. We need more of them for the environment and it sounds cool.

Running - Inexpensive and available almost all year. Be aware of possible triggers. Really good way to get exhausted.

How would running cause a trigger? Just curious.

    Hey @nomo,

If you run where others run, there will be visual stimulus all around you.

Hiking. It's physically demanding. It gets you out of the house. You meet people along the way. And depending where you go, the views can be really inspiring.

    • Hiking and scrambling (mild rock climbing with no ropes harnesses or safety support). For US based folks, I go to CO and hit 13er's when I can in RMNP.
    • Running stairs (best cardio of my entire life and I have been doing it every business day for more than 6 months now). Most people can get to a stairwell but even more of them have no clue how powerful it is from a cardiac perspective.
    • Functional training - weighted vests, sandbag work etc.
    • Chess - fun, especially with a good partner
    • Duolingo and language learning (absurdly fast to level up a second language if you pick right).

Forging. Dangerous, time consuming, and awesome. I just built one. If it's up your alley, it will get you thinking and moving. Plus it's really cool.
