so yesterday I relapsed after hitting day 9 which is a big streak for me. Now today I’m feeling pretty depressed because of it, and I know I will be depressed for at least another week now.

How can I pick myself up? How can I battle the depression of the first few days?

My goal recently is to be happier, and I’m not finding it easy but I’ve been depressed all year because of NoFap and I so wanna be happy again.

How can I get through this depression quickly in the first few days after a relapse?

Cold showers, hot yoga, exercise, watching positive motivational YouTube videos, getting out of house, those are some ideas. I'm going through a funk right now too so feel free to reach out if need be. Overall, put yourself first and just focus on feeling better day by day.

  3. Yeah, it is depressing. Be sure that you're not struggling with chronic depression which may make it difficult to resist urges. Suggest talking with health professional. Keep PMO free anyway because PMO will just make things worse.

Well first of all I do feel proud of you dude. You're only 16 years old still you're here and trying to improve. If you're thinking about your future and self improvement at this age well I think you'll make a breakthrough in just a few years.
Second of all why'd you have to such a perfectionist? There is no linear path to victory! You will experience your share of ups and downs, but at the end of the day you should be there for yourself, forgive yourself for what you've done and move on.Unrealistic expectations should be thrown away and must be replaced with the love you can give yourself.
I see you're such a smart guy so I recommend you to read the book "You Can Heal Your Life" from Louise L. Hay.That book is amazing and will help you to make so much better relationship with yourself.Good luck!

Yeah I have considered. I find the depression goes away after a week or so of no PMO, but if it does continue then I will probably seek help.

    Thanks for replying :)

Wow, thanks for this. Yeah, I decided that I'd sort my addiction out early on before I'm a lonely middle aged virgin with depression.

Book sounds interesting, I'll check it out :) I've had plenty of ups and downs and I'm sure I will continue to do so, but lately I feel like I've been seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Things feel like they're getting better. I've had 2 streaks of over 7 days on a row, and it usually takes me months to get past 5 days, and since I've started college I've made lots of good mates and I'm socializing a lot more, so things are getting better :)

Thanks for taking the time to reply, means a lot :D
