please, go easy on OP everyone. They were just asking a food for thought question.

personally, I dont think criminalizing it for end users would help. But distributors and ads? I could see fines for that possibly helping.

I like to think of the days when p was less accessible with just magazines mostly. It helped a lot. Reducing access is a good goal I think, especially on sites that children and young adults use.

Keep in mind that P industry isnt just one set of people. There are:
    1. consumers
    2. performers (trafficked and non trafficked)
    3. pushers (pimps, really)
    4. advertisers / marketers
    5. investors
    6. makers (camera, ligting, set, web design, etc)

and more. Most laws target 3-6, which I support. crimilizing 1-2 is especially ineffective and pointless (history shows).

also, P absolutely preys on children, just like the tabacco industry. P use has gone from starting at age 12 to recent years starring at age 9. its sick.

Yes, I agree with you but the problem is (in my opinion) that they can't really enforce it.
I mean, they could create a mechanism that asks you to enter your ID information / credit card number in order to prove that you are at least 18 years old but.. if that will happen.. it won't be good for them.

    because of 2 reasons:

    1. Sadly, most of the porn users are teenagers and kids
    2. Most of the porn users wouldn't like the idea of sharing their personal information online
(imagine that you register to a porn site, the site gets hacked and all your information is leaked online)

    That's a very good point!

Absolutely agree! Look at us. How many of us started looking at porn before the age of 18? I was around 12 when I first started looking at porn. My son now is almost 12 and it would destroy my heart if he went down the same path as me!

This is what separates porn of the teens and twenties and porn of the 70s and 80s. There's no shame like when you used to have to walk into a store and buy it.

Exactly what I mean. People want to ban things forever from everyone because they have an issue. Many people use porn as a living and they are fine. Millions watch and pay for it and go about their lives with no effect. Why? Because they have no issues with porn or masturbating. They are "normal" people like us have addiction issues that's it. If we take away their access to p*rn and or the internet from even accessing partial nudity they will go crazy and find another addiction. Probably drugs. Then blame drugs for their issues when they are the one consuming the issue. Porn is just pixels on a screen or pages on a magazine. They aren't alive. They don't have a mind or morph into a misc that persuades you to go to it. Many people who recover from anything start by finding the real issue. You. Once you realize you are the problem. Things become clear.

Well you sound like most here who blame porn. Not themselves. If you aren't the problem then why do you have an addiction. A way to prove that has been shown as people in the past have done experiments on the brain. If we tinker with each of your brain then bam all of sudden no more pmo. cause' it's in your head. We all have an addiction. There's a reason there is a lawsuit against NoFap. A lot of users are almost using propaganda and false beliefs to show new users and others that Porn is a major problem, and is the problem. So they go out and start going on these porn pages and blaming them for everything. This causes others to falsely believe porn is bad. The people in porn get harassed and threatened. And for what? Because some of you can't keep your hands off your d*ck and jerking it?
