Counter Productive Habit Substitute

  1. Okay. That was close.

    Yesterday I decided to do some workout in the morning since I haven't done any exercise in a week. I felt great.

    Then, I got cravings around afternoon. Thankfully I kept telling myself not to give in, since it's really hard for me to stay sober for more than a week. My current streak is 12 days.

    This morning, the cravings became stronger and that was enough to convince myself to turn off the website blockers so I could see what I've missed on those websites that I usually visit.

    I browsed for a bit, with my heart started beating rapidly and adrenaline flowing through my veins. It took me awhile to have an erection (possible ED?). I saw those filthy and misogynistic pictures again.

    It didn't take me a long time to realize where is this going. I'm grateful I have developed enough willpower to close all the incognito tabs and turn on the blockers again.

    So yeah, my hypothesis is... Workout makes me horny? Maybe it's because the testosterone produced after it. I dunno. I want to keep myself in shape, but I don't wanna relapse as well.

    Yes, exercise "can" make you more susceptibelt o relapse. Thats what happened to me. I went 54 days before relapse, and two weeks before I relapsed, I had been exercising nearly every day for 2-3 hours a day. I didnt take time to calm down (meditate, take breaks, etc.) and I suspect my testosterone and cortisol levels shot up.
