I have had to reset my counter numerous times. I was hoping I wouldn't have to do it once but they may be just pride. I want to be successful at NoFap but I find myself making excuses so easily and just putting myself into situations where I know that the temptation will overtake me and that I will cave to porn.

My commitment and resolve have been wavering and I have felt the negative effects of porn in all aspects of my life. I has affected my relationships my commitments to finding a job and my girlfriend. It has brought so much shame into my life that there are many days that I just don't want to get out of bed. I know that it is possible to break this addiction but at times I just don't feel that way. I just want to feel like I can be free from porn.

I know that I need to stick to my commitment and rely on God and support from my friends.

You can do this terminator1. You have admitted your problem and how it has affected your life. Admitting that we have issues to deal with is the first step for us to actually work on it. You can't work on something you constantly deny or suppress.

Here's the thing - relapse is not worth it. Do not give in. Look back and assess what led to your relapse. Then find ways to avoid temptation - go outside for a walk, go to the gym, discover a new hobby, whatever activities that can help you get your mind off PMO. Go to church or join a bible study group or support a ministry. It's really refreshing to be connected with our spiritual side. More often than not, it gets neglected. God is present and we just need to be sensitive to feel this presence. I'm no spiritual expert nor am an exemplary Christian. I have my own issues - PMO included, but I know He won't give up on me no matter what.

Just like what I've told myself when I started months ago - take it one day at a time. Move forward and fight on bro!

Thank you guys for your comments it really does mean a lot to have support from the community especially when I feel depressed and like I can't break this addiction. But I know that recovery is possible and that everyone here including myself can obtain freedom from the dreaded PMO addiction.

Never give up terminator1. It might be difficult but no that every other day without PMO is another step to freedom and a happy lufe free from this abomination. There will be relapses but dont let thar put you down. Get back up and come back even stronger. Good luck!

  6. There is no God, so it is better to rely on YOUR OWN commitment.
(and even if there should be a God, he for sure wants you to help yourself).

I had a successful time of ~7 weeks of freedom this year, and the key was my ABSOLUTE COMMITMENT.

At this time, I was not just "trying something out", I did not think "I try this for some time, but then I go back" .... NO: I had avisio of a new life, and I said to me: "This is my way of life, this is what I will do now, and there is no way back"

Only this way of thinking is what really works.

You might wonder why I came back: Well, my vision for my new life became foggy a little bit and I lost focus. In this same moment I slipped and I fell back.

But I've learned something very important:

To stop that addiction, it not sufficient to just say "I avoid PMO". No: You must have a CLEAR VISION OF A NEW LIFE. When you EXACTLY know what you want, then you can follow your own path, and PMO automatically fades away.
