Why do we count the days since out last relapse? Isn't it better to look forward to our goals? I have, for instance, set my initial goal as 90 days pmo free (hard mode). Day 2 is almost over. What if rather than calling tomorrow "day 3" call it "87 days left"? I feel like counting up is anchoring yourself to a past, negative event; like attaching yourself to a viscous dog with a retractable leash, then trying to run away from it. We should instead throw a lifeline towards the goal and pull ourselves toward it.

Obviously, there are pitfalls. We can't think, "Once I get there, I can indulge a little." That's a temptation anyway, but I'm saying this philosophy could strengthen that. But no, once you have reached your initial goal, get yourself a fucking Klondike bar and set off for a new goal without skipping a beat.

    Think positive folks!
