I am Catholic and I belong to a Courage chapter. Looking to connect with other members of Courage.

    God bless you.

  2. Hey Jackson. I've been involved in Courage virtually over the past few years. My wife does not know of my struggle.

Would love to correspond with you.

I'm rewatching Desire of the Everlasting Hills and the Third Way this morning for a regroup. My wife and family have been gone all week.

    Blessings.

  8. I am not currently involved in Courage. When I first returned to the church almost twenty years ago, my parish priest suggested that I join Courage. I went to one or two meetings, but it was not right for me at that time. Three or four years later (thanks to a lot of help and intervention from Jesus) I accepted the idea that I would be celibate for the rest of my life. I have remained committed to celibacy ever since. For the last 15 years God has been trying to get me to deal with my addiction to pornography. I have resisted. This year just before the beginning of Lent, I finally started to tackle the pornography issue. Is addiction to pornography something Courage would address? Should I reconsider joining Courage? Or is a "Courage" support group here on NoFap a better option?

  9. you were celibate but watched porn? Why? What’s the point? Most folks look at it to O.

  10. Maybe "celibate" is not the most appropriate term. I accepted the idea that I would never be in a relationship or have sex with another person for the rest of my life. Masturbation was the only remaining outlet for my sexuality.

  11. Of course, I knew looking at pornography was a sin. And I knew the church considers masturbation a sin. I just was not able/willing to give up my entire sexuality all at once.

  12. That makes sense to me. Ever wonder why sex is so complicated?

  13. Courage would use the term chastity given your state in life. The stories are as varied as the persons. Some are married but struggle, some are single and celibate. Courage will always encourage the term “unwanted same sex attraction” verses accepting the term gay as an indentity. Courage will look at the whole person not the label or the attraction. Courage will always align with the teaching of the Catholic Church. Which on a deep study are quite merciful and offer dignity.

Watch Desire of the Everlasting Hills or The Third Way. This will give you a sense of what Courage is all about. Bit are available free online.

    Be well.
