I read the now habit and from that book I started planning my day because I was really bad at procrastination. At the moment I am onto Tony Robins RPM to plan my day. I'd say 'Now Habit' was a great start to my fight against procrastination but I have used lots of resources eg internet videos, podcasts, exercises etc.

 

At the moment I am reading:

Terry Crews How to Be a Man - It's an eye opener, looking at him you'd think his life has been easy and he hasn't suffered any hardships. Holy cow, you couldn't be more wrong, he's had loads of rejection, been on the brink of bankruptcy but has always had some kind of unwavering belief in himself. Inspirational.

Frasier Scripts - A script book of the tv show for a bit of light reading

Ultimate Confidence by Marisa Peer - Need a bit of support as i'm terrified of speaking to attractive females

Daft Wee Stories by Limmy - A bit of light reading before I move onto a novel

 

I just finished They Tell me of a Home, by Daniel Black. It was an awesome experience of another world that slowly opened th become home.

James Baldwin's The Fire Next Time
The fire may well be coming again soon, but, if it does, it will just push the real fire down the road a piece. Society is not about to allow any real change.

 

Just finished Autobiography of Malcolm X - I would highly recommend it to anyone who had any interest at all in learning about him. I can't help but love him by the end and recognize what a great tragedy his murder by the NOI was.

Before that - John Irving - Cider House Rules. Love John Irving - Stephen King called him the modern Charles Dickens at one point, and I don't know about that, but this book and Owen Meany are in a class of their own.

Speaking of Stephen King, recently listened to the Green Mile and currently listening to Different Seasons. The Green Mile is great - recommended even if you've seen the movie. If anyone hasn't read The Stand - do yourself a favor.

Also listening to John D Rockefeller biography by Chernow - great listen, probably wouldn't invest the time to read.

If anyone here likes the fantasy genre - check out the Malazan series by Erickson. If you like fantasy and don't mind paying close attention (and possibly rereading), this series is well worth the time invested. I know a lot of people have read the Game of Thrones series, this one is far better although requires more effort.

 

@Icarium I enjoyed the Autobiography of Malcom X many years ago, when it was current. My, how time flies, and so little changes. I just started rereading The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin. I wish that it were far less relevant today.

 

I love fiction. The stories, the characters, the plots and plot twists, the world building, the intrigue, sometimes even the writing styles themselves...sure, some books aren't so great. I've found that I can't read On Basilisk Station. I first tried reading it years ago and couldn't get past two chapters. Tried again recently, couldn't get past the first chapter. But other books grab me from page one. Slow paced, fast paced, whatever, as long as it holds my interest.

Non fiction also interests me. In fifth grade I had a teacher comment on all the science books I was getting from the library. I'll sometimes skim through a book on some historical subject in the bookstore and if I'm not careful I could end up spending a lot of time reading passages. I'm just a reader.

 

We all have our interests. It would be a boring world if everyone liked all the same things.

I'm currently reading Crime and punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. It's really good, I recommend it.
