Remember, if you act out or relapse. Do not beat yourself up. Just look at the improvement you have made from when you hit rock bottom to the time where you just relapsed. I bet there is improvement, if not, well you are on the right track to make some more down the road.

Feeling guilty and shame for relapsing can make you relapse again. Be at peace with the things you can not change..all you can do is try and use the tools that are given to stay sober.

    Here is a little prayer:

    God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

First we ask what about this particular struggle we are going through that we can not change? Once we identify what is beyond our control, we then try to turn it over to our higher power.

    Next we ask,
what can we change? Is a change of attitude in order or is this a good moment to use one of the man tools that are available here on this site (success stories, journal, coming here and answering questions and posting questions, videos on yourbrainonporn....so on) Doing all this at least takes away time that you may spend watching PMO

By inviting the god of our understanding to help us know the
difference between what we can and what we can not change, we often feel more at peace.
