    Hi All

I am a 43 year old bloke from Australia, trying to kick PMO after seeing my first porn image in 1997. Probably one of the few things I have been an early adopter of.. It's been an up and down ride, with periods on and off. I have had girlfriend's throughout, and I would have to say that it destroyed my last major relationship of 6 years, even though she didn't know it. Maybe I will have the guts one day to tell her that she was actually really beautiful, its just that I was in an unreal mental relationship with behaviors that I despised. It's a sad thing when you have a hot babe and you can't even do anything about it. For a while there I wondered whether I was gay or something because I could only watch not do. I went right through a questioning period and a whole lot of upheavals (death of my mum, break ups, redundancy) and met a new girl only to discover that I was decidedly straight - but it freaked me for a while. Now I know that it was the escalation thing. Porn also became an avoidance behavior and affected my studies and it took me 10 years to finish my Phd.

Anyhow, definitely I have not been using porn as heavily as I was, and I am now engaged, but about once a week I get that weird feeling, sort of scratchy-ness, and if I am alone, I will slip into that space. I still have some performance issues though I have a great sex life w my fiancée. I just want it out of my life - I don't want that fear that the wrong thing will pop up on my machine when I am giving a lecture. I wish I had never seen that first image (was it a jpg back then?). I do not want this thing in my marriage.

So NoFap for 90 days, take it a day at a time. Wish me luck..
    Cheers
    BB

Best of luck! If you have a great sex life, then you ought to find it easier than most I guess

Good luck Bruno! I have found that being on this site and writing down my thoughts has made all the difference in the world when it comes to kicking my fapping habbit! I hope it works for you as well.

Welcome BB! I know that feeling - worrying about something popping up in my browser, like a URL suggestion, when I'm presenting in a Zoom meeting. That happened to me in a browser I thought was clean and it freaked me out. (I wasn't in Zoom at the time).

I like your writing. Consider starting a journal in the 40+ section. Lots going on now. Several guys are on 100+ day streaks and writing very helpful and insightful content.

Wow, what a strong goal, NoFap for 90 days, Yes you are a monster :D the first porn image i saw was in a magazine, and it was super unusual for me. When I became a teenager, of course I had an attraction to the opposite sex and all this stuff, haha. I started jerking off to photos on my older brother's computer in FLAC format, but the quality was not very good. I was smart, so I quickly found a way to improve the quality of my photos. I used https://www.softorbits.com/convert-heic-to-jpeg/ to change the format of photos and improve the quality. So I started having more fun :D I tried to get out of it too, but it didn't work out, hahaha

Why welcome someone who has not visited the site since August 2013, over seven years ago? I like to see old threads revived when they are packed with useful stuff, but I cannot see the point in reviving this one.

@kropo82 My mistake. I didn't notice that it wasn't revived by the OP.
