    Hello All,

This is my first day in this Forum.

A little about my 'M habit'.

I started off with M, when I was 13. It was an unusual pleasure which gave me a good time in my childhood. The excess flow of dopamine to my brain was the best time of my entire freaking day. I was a very bright kid in the block. I topped exams and was the favorite student of many of my teachers. I was even active in co-curricular activities like acting in small skits, essay writing and stuff.
But slowly and steadily the M habit crept into my life. I had no problems in securing my 1st job, worked in good projects, with good/ knowledgeable people. Jumped to another job 8 months back to another city. Things are going absolutely fine. But this habit is taking a mental toll on me. I dint have the courage to accept that this was a disease. I even started consuming alcohol in my 3rd year of Graduation. Trying to intake 'alcohol' , was out of sheer curiosity. I did this in-spite of the fact that, I have two of my cousins who are alcohol addicts.

Now I have DECIDED to stop alcohol too (dated Dec 15 2014). No drop of alcohol has entered my throat since then!.

Coming to the M thing, the frequency is slowly starting to increase. I am one courageous fellow in may aspects of life, but when it comes to sharing/ discussing this habit with my family ( I have a very caring & loving family, I stay away from them due to my work commitments), I dint share it.

Feeling good to be a part of this community, and looking forward to discuss/ debate on topics other than "PMO" :)

    Carpe Diem!! :)

Hi Nath and welcome to the forums! You've made the first steps towards getting rid of this habit by recognizing your problem and deciding to do something about it. Seeing that you've managed to stay off alcohol for more than two months, I'm sure that you already have the willpower and discipline to beat PMO, too.

I see that you haven't set a goal for yourself other than the number of days on your counter. Do you want to stop masturbating completely or bring it down to a more manageable level? Also, do you have a problem with porn or just masturbation?

In any case, you've come to the right place for assistance. If you need any advice or help, just ask, I and I'm sure other members of the forum will do our best to help :).

    Stay strong!

    Great stuff, Nath1234. Welcome.

The first thing I would advise anyone to do, is get some knowledge about what we know.

    http://yourbrainonporn.com/

This is a great site to learn about what we know. They also have a really fantastic book/ebook that you can get. Spend as much time in the first week getting educated and it will save yourself a lot of ignorance later in your battle to stop your P addictions. NoFap will always support people, as jatar has said. Feel free to ask anything. You will find that most of your answers can be solved by reading the book in the site above.

Stay healthy, and happy, can you will win.

    Good luck.

    Hi jatar, NFi,

    Thank you.

I want to bring this habit to a more manageable level. This would be only possible , after I completely stop P.

As of now, I have problem with porn, too much self imposed exposure to porn, which eventually leads to M..

I have set the following goals .

    No PMO - 07 days

I did quite a bit research on the functioning of brain when it makes us feel happy, and how the increase infusion of many neurotransmitters will make us feel( after the O), we are 'on a high'.

    Carpe Diem!!
