Today marks day 30 of being free from PMO and boy I couldn’t be happier.
Last night I battled severe urges because I took Wellbutrin and it triggered me intensely.
I found the strength to fight them although I was confined to my room.
Boys I cannot relapse again. I just can’t. I’m 28. The mental toll this addiction has taken on me and even my family over the years has been devastating. I moved to a new state to get away from drugs and make a better life for myself. I’m so lucky to be here and I need to make the most of it.
Here are my tips to succeed:
-Eliminate anything that influences you, whether it’s social media, tv or substances (coffee or other drugs). Your life will be so much more peaceful without it.
-The point of ridding yourself of this addiction is to make the most out of your day and your life!! Small changes make huge differences! Clean your room. Cook for yourself. Look up a new recipe. Go to the library. Find a new interest. Explore life!!
-Exercise and eat right. Track what you eat (I use MyFitnessPal) and make sure you’re hitting your macros. Even if you’re not lifting weights you still need your macros!! A lot of addiction stems from lack of nutrition. You need to keep yourself strong to beat this!
-Get direct sunlight everyday for at least 20-30 minutes. We are men. We need to grow. The sun is good for us. It makes stuff grow.
-Be patient and accepting of yourself as you heal from this addiction. Become your best friend as you walk the path to recovery. What you need is within you, you just have to stop pushing it away with PMO!
-Recognize how much it’s impacting your life. How much it’s changed you. You don’t want to build a life around PMO. Change your lifestyle!
-Drink water!!!
-Focus on yourself!!! Not what the people around you are doing. Not what people on tv are doing. Not what other people have that you don’t. Tune it all out because it’s worthless to spend your energy on it! You can make something marvelous with your life as long as you stay focused on your life! Leave their problems to themselves!
-Do not obsess over women. To be a strong man you must not allow your sexual urges to make your decisions. This gives women power over you. Do not give away your power to women. Stay strong and retain!
-Really let what you’ve been doing sink in. You sit in a chair, you watch other people have sex while your hand is on your d**k. Wtf? Such degradation for some cheap and easy pleasure. That’s not who we are! I promise you that is not your true nature no matter what you think of yourself. Cut out the bad habits and you will see!
-Get help. Find a therapist who can help you reframe your thoughts.
-Stay off the internet and phone as much as possible! No doom scrolling!
-Find appreciation for life. People think of life as mundane and normal only because they’re used to it. When you really think about life we’re living in a crazy sci-fi. We are on a rock that revolves around a giant ball of fire. We are a part of infinity. The universe will collapse in on itself one day and then make itself again. Forever. This could be the quadrillsixillionth time that earth has existed. The sheer fact that we exist is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. Sometimes I really can’t believe existence exists. But don’t just exist. Live!!
-Everything you do will create ripples in your life. That’s why tiny changes are so impactful. PMO will wreck you!
That’s about all I have for now. Keep fighting the good fight brothers and free yourself. Find out what you’re truly capable of. You only will by abstaining and retaining. Let’s do it!!
