day 4 and struggling...

    This is one of the hardest challenges I have ever attempted but it needs to be done. I have been pmo addicted since I was 12 or so years old. It has caused me much social anxiety and distress. I am in panic mode right now. I am used to pmoing 3-5 times a day but I have told myself I wouldn't watch anymore pornography or masturbate for 90 days... Any tips or pointers welcome

    You will always feel the fear panic anxiety that comes with breaking any addiction, it will pass it simply has too. You musn't give into this fear you must power through it. Here's some tips that helped me.

    1) Adopt the right attitude. Tell yourself your a pervert, I don't want to be a pervert but I am . look in the mirror and tell yourself that. Tell yourself porn is disgusting just pure filth. How would people think of me if they knew my dirty and dark secret. I'd be labelled a pervert because that's what I am . You must tell yourself these things on a regular basis. When you feel tempted tell yourself these things repeat these things to yourself. This will adjust your attitude towards it and quickly.

    2)Find a song that motivates you a song that touches your heart.Music is powerful to stimulate your mind. Mine is learn to fly by foo fighters. You can't learn to fly if your crippled by addiction. Whatever song you choose listen to it regular tailor the words to your addiction and let it motivate you.

    3) Burn off your adrenaline regular. Run, lift weights , swim. you need a release of adrenaline. You need to release endorphins without looking at porn or masturbating.

    4) Don't put yourself in a situation when your temptation is gonna be high. You must learn this. Don't lay in bed . If you need to piss have one. That's a big one if you need to piss jump up and piss don't lay there or sit there grabbing your dick. We all do it. DON"T. Only go to bed when your tired.

    5) If the feelings come put them out your mind don't focus on them.

    These things will help. It takes time but NEVER give up!! You can do it I know you can and so must you!

    Thanks man! I did hit the panic button last night for depression and it brought me to an amazing story about someone who is battling these feelings also.

    As for a song I have been listening to a lot of up beat knowledgeable hip hop, not that misogynistic stuff I am used to. Lupe Fiasco has really been doing it for me as of late.

    I just want my happiness back and this is what needs to be done. That is what I'm going to keep telling myself.

    No problem man pleased to help.

    Remember you must be harsh with yourself when fighting the addiction. But forgive yourself when you relapse.

    Day 6- I'm starting to feel at ease about not fapping or watching porn

    Today was just like any other day, I went grocery shopping and saw some really cute girls that I couldn't help but look at like objects.. rewiring your brain is not easy when you've been pmoing for half of your life. I will keep it up and continue not watching pornography because at some point I want to find a healthy relationship.

    Day 4 diary-
    I have decided to stop masturbation forever and battle with this destroying phenomena in order to be healthier and happier person. Anyways, I will tell me story later in another post but I would like to share some of the changes I am experiencing with this great community.

    1) My Motivation and energy levels are rising day after day. I just can feel it every minute.

    2) My mood is more stable and healthy than ever. I have positive vibes and more chillin mood unlike the old days where my mood used to change very frequently and on a daily basis.

    3) My eyes and my face look brighter and more attractive than the previous period.

    4) Improved sleep quality; I feel ease to go to sleep and wakeup early.

    Imagine I am having all these blessings just at day 4 !
