I relate to this, thanks for posting. I am different with my mother and brother than with friends. I don't want to be, but I just shut down. I think it's shame for me. Embarrassment of who I've become, and that I can't hide it from them. They can see me no matter if I try to hide. I hope your relationships with them continue to improve.
