Day 9 - That's the first REALY ard day for me

    Hi there!
    On my 9th day today and I am totally unfocused. I feel a constant burn on my penis even if I am not hard and I have the urge to touch myself. That was also the case yesterday and the day before (but less intense). But today there is also the urge to watch porn. I didnt have this urge so much until I started.

    I avoid any kind of social media for today, had 2 cold showers for now but they dont help for long. I feel really tired because I dont sleep well the last 3 nights, so I have no energy to work-out, but it's also impossible to take a nap!! I am a mess today! heehe

    Please some help or advise

    Yes i try to focus on the reasons I do this. And you are very right!! it might be tricky but I feel much better!
    Today not so much cravings for porn. So its all good for now.

    Yes! Every day we can discover new ways to re-direct this stored sexual energy. It might get hard some times but its new and its interesting. If I keep a curious point of view on what is going on things get easier.
    For examble on every sensation I feel down there before NoFap I would translate it that I would put some porn and jerk off. If you are curious on what is going on you can translate it to something like this:
    There is a burning sensation down there. Thought of put some porn on. Observation of the thought to put some porn. (the observation of the habbit seems to make the thought weaker.
    Things that I have noted that work for me when some sexual tenstion is in the body:
    1) I need to pee. Really, so simple but most of the times its only this and it lasts for long time.
    2) Go out for a walk (the sexual energy is been absorved by the whole body and the mind moves to other directions instead of porn
    3) Cold shower (works instantly but it doens't last long)
    4) Go out to meet some friends (that's the thing I am going to do now)
    5) Share the experience (so that's why this NoFap forum is so important for us)

  6. Observation of the thought...very good!
    That is the inner self evaluating what's going on in the mind and body. That is an ongoing conversation with oneself which is very healthy and not crazy as some people think.
    The inner or "true" self knows what is right, healthy, wholesome and natural.
    As porn addicts we didn't listen to that inner voice, or we didn't even hear it!
    I have discovered that the more I quiet myself the more clearly I can hear it, meditation and contemplation practices...

    Please share your experience. How is it going for you? Today is SO difficult for me!!
    Last night I haven't slept at all. So much sexual energy in the body. Today I was like a zombie, out of energy to work out but the sexual energy is still in the body and builds up no matter what i do!
    From first day was quite easy for me. But the last two days it is so hard. I feel my penis and my balls like burning (even when completely soft) and I need the desire to touch myself and release!!
    Mind goes to porn but I can re - direct it for now. But the feeling and the sensation and the thought to masturbate and release it is so strong today!! I try to be out of the house for most of the day but this will nor work for long.

    I dont know brother. I also work on pc (editor and motion graphics).
    The good days I can focus on my project. The hard days like today I try to stay away from computer.
    Now that I am back home I am surfing on Youtube and everything makes me horny. I am so close to slip today.
    In your case if you really want to quit porn write down how yourself would be in 2-3 years if you continue to be addicted to porn (the negative stuff)
    Also write down why you do this. What you will gain. The positive stuff. Keep it somewhere on your desk to watch it any time you have an urge.
    But honestly, I am also struggling this moment. Maybe a guy that have been on this journey for longer time can help you more.
    But any time you have a strong urge get back here and try to share it. It helps to brake the cycle while we share experiences.
    Porn its a beast. We have to be strong as Men if we really want to succeed!

  10. I am pacing, rocking, counting breaths, talking to myself, walking, running etc. just whatever seems to be the alternative at the time. I think we must allow ourselves to go crazy for a while, until our new habits become the norm. My sleep patterns are messed up also. The area below the navel is my new focus when I work out. I use the energy built up there to power me through exercises. We have to find something better in our lives to replace the dopamine rush that we usually get from porn. For me it is building physical strength and stamina, so I can become competitive again, and also feel more confident in relationships.

    Again, thanks for the reply and the advice. How do you use the energy to power yourslef up through exercises? Through visualization or something more practical?
    You are right that we have to replace the dopamine from porn. I start to see the patterns before they escalate and try to replace it as soon as possible. They start with a physical sensation in the body down there. I don't try to focus to something else. I just notice it and use that energy to something else. Yesterday was a long walk. After I came back at home i was much more calm and relaxed and finally slept well.
    Today it was finally an easy day for me. I hope I will have a good sleep as well.
     
  12. Yes, visualization is a good technique. I visualize a coiled serpent at the base of my spine. In the Asian martial arts the area below the navel is the center of gravity and the energy emanates from there. When I walk lately, I focus my attention on that area, and I will actually keep my hands in a folded position there. When I do pull ups or leg raises I do the same, totally focusing on that area of my body.
    We can do this my friend. I know we all have different ways to recover. For me personally, my studies of Zen Buddhism and yoga practices have been a game changer.

    On my 29th day today. I just had sex and orgasmed!
    Still no porn for me and I would like to keep the streak of No porn, no masturbation.
    I will try now to make another streak with PMO higher than 29 days. But my main goal is to keep away from porn and masturbation.
    So if now and then comes and oportunity to empty my seed via sex I think its ok.
    Semen retantion has many benefits but also many dificulties. For now I feel a little bit empty but also so RELAXED!
    What is your opinion?
