I’ll be in the USA in a few weeks so I figured i’d tune into the debate. But... It’s so boring without Tulsi handing out career-ending jabs like it’s free healthcare.

 

Castro and Beto were just throwing Hail Marys in hopes of getting out of 1% jail.

Biden has been universally lauded as having the best night of the bunch. The Bernie/Warren situation is odd because they're playing in the same lane for the socialist vote. One of them will have to edge out the other. Bernie didn't sound like he had an optimistic vision at all--he just sounded like a grumpy old man who was tired of having to deal with pesky kids. Warren's biggest vulnerability is just how insanely expensive all her ideas are. She lamented $23 billion in pharmaceutical profits in order to defend a $30,000 billion health care plan. You could confiscate 100% of the wealth of the top 1% and still come nowhere near paying for even 5% of her health care plan ... to say nothing of her plans for climate change, student loan forgiveness, social security expansion, etc. etc.

She definitely let the mask slip off re: gun control, though. Democrats have been saying "calm down, no one is talking about taking away your guns," but that's exactly what Warren was getting at. She even dismissed mass shootings as "taking up the headlines," but then talked about suicides, domestic abuse, and "children" (aka gang members) being 'shot in the streets'. Those are handgun issues. She really got honest when she said, "this isn't gonna be a one-and-done thing ... we're gonna do it, and then we're gonna do it again, and then we're gonna come back for more." Which, roughly translated, means first they'll ban 'assault weapons'. Then they'll ban 30-round mags. Then they'll ban 15-round mags. Then they'll ban semi-automatics completely ... until we're all left loading our single-round muskets for home defense and praying we don't miss.

If a Democrat manages to win, I'm going to be thanking God for Mitch McConnell, which I never thought I'd hear myself say as a die-hard conservative.

Did you see Biden's response when he got that old quote about slavery thrown back at him? That definitely caught him off guard. He was stumbling like a boxer trying to recover from a full-strength hook punch.

 

Watched some highlights. As I expected the most direct and clearest was Sanders. Vote for him if you want socdem.

If you feel like experimenting, join #Yanggang. That's who I would go for, probably.

The rest of them are status quo people not worth mentioning. If Trump starts to make sense regarding climate might as well keep his orange butt in there.

 

Well if Poltergeist comes out with another sequel, Joe Biden is ready to reprise his role of that creepy old man.
