I'm currently in deployed Afghanistan, lost count how many deployments I've had over the last 10 years. I actually found this place while wondering why my go-to site was down. I'm been telling myself I need to stop and reset for the longest time. I've noticed when I go home on leave, that my drive isn't there for my wife, its more for alone time and to fap. Still able to have sex, but its not like how it was before. I never thought I'd be addicted to porn or fapping. I have been sick since the beginning of October and haven't had the energy or the drive, so I've already started my streak and want to keep it going until I go home. So I guess I'm starting a PM-Mode until December. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Currently living is in a single room, no windows, connex structure. So lots of privacy, and free time after work, with decent internet. So its all there for the taking.

  2. Chaka,

Welcome to NoFap! You are in the right place.

First, and I mean this, thank you for your service. I know you hear that all time - but, believe me when I say it, I mean it.

Next, you are describing some of the very typical problems that pmo can cause.

Exactly what pmo does to the brain. Porn is such a fantasy world, where everyone is pretty and everything is perfect - not to you taste, just click another vid or image. Save the ones that turn you on. How can the real world - and specifically your wife - compete with that.

Chaka, you are describing the very beginnings of PIED (porn induced erectile dysfunction). Basically as the brain gets used to the chemicals that pmo releases, it doesn't see real sex as all that exciting and thus the ED. Also, death grip is in play here. Death Grip is where during masturbation, the brain seeks greater and greater pleasure. So, the pressure of the hand increases. This kills the nerves in the penis making an even tighter grip needed. Then during real sex, there just isn't enough pressure to give the same pleasure. A you say, it's just not like before.

I'd recommend downloading the Getting Started Book. It's free and explains all this better than I can.

Let us know how it's going,

Greatly appreciated for the advice and I'll be sure to keep updated.

I knew something was wrong when I couldn't even stay hard the whole time with my wife, but when I was watching porn it was totally different.

Looking forward to hitting new milestones and PRs.
