    Hey all,
I'm on day 60 on NoFap. And my bday is a few weeks away June 4. I will be turning 30.

I been hit with waves upon waves of depression. I have to force my self to go out and exercise and enjoy the sun.

Most of the times I think I am almost 30 and what have I done so far. I asked for a few days off form my regular schedule seeing that the night shift has greatly affected me. I am afraid of getting scolded every day and what not. I barely have motivation to leave the house. And barely see the sun. I went running for 2 days and swimming for 1 day earlier this week. But I watched a youtube on how to overcome depression is to exercise every day. I force my self to go into the sun.

But, it might take some time before I am back to my normal self. I was 145lbs my lowest and earlier this week I hit 172lbs. A few years ago I was 210lbs. I'm afraid the weight gain is causing me perception issues and physical problems.

I have no friends since I just work/sleep/computer...repeat. I will end here for now, and continue more later.

You don't need friends. In the end what matters is what you have accomplished and what you have become.

Hell no! everybody needs friends! Friends are for support. If he is on NoFap , and had a streak of 61 days , then I suppose there must be a lots of boost up in the confidence. Now, if he will make more friends and more relations , it will accelerate his process of curing. He is already depressed. I don't know your exact situation, but you always need someone to back you up- and they are friends. Socializing more will keep him more away from PMO.

I think that he should also go see a psyciatrist who can help him cope from depression . Depression may be serious guys. And please try to socialize, don't be afraid of rejection or uninterest.

I didn't start my sobriety until I was 50. You are a KID at 30!!!! You can have a beautiful life ahead of you.
All of us here are your friends, even if we are cyber. Imagine what people like us went through before the advent of all this new technology. TOTAL isolation!!!!
I am old enough to be your daddy. If not, then I can be your Dutch uncle. I am part Dutch and actually speak the language.
So, listen here, sonny boy! Look on the bright side of things. Have yourself a good day.

Friends are essential you need to have real life connections otherwise you will be living a virtual life. Virtual meaning you are going to be sitting behind a screen all day long and you will have thoughts of PMO which is not at all healthy. Also in its most extreme case it can lead to aphasia which is a lack of empathy. It’s a lack of an awareness caused by staring at a screen all day so you become really bad with communicating with people face to face.

Depression can be caused by a lot of things. It could be the emotional distress that comes with breaking an addiction, but seeing as you're on day 65 now, you should pretty much be over that whole thing. Loneliness is another cause of depression. You need someone to talk to. If you are short on friends, start with family. Make plans, invite your mom/dad/sister/brother whatever you have, to dinner, or out somewhere. When you start to feel better, try finding a few good friends to hold onto. I dont have many friends either. In fact i only have about 2 really close friends. But honestly you dont need that many friends.

If you spend a lot of time on your PC, find someone to talk to online. It may not be as beneficial as talking to someone in person but having someone to talk to while you're on the PC really helps. Who knows, maybe that online friendship will turn into a real life one? I hope the best for you mate.
Check out this vid on depression:

    Stay strong friend!

I am also one with no friends. Part of the problem was I ended up like this was because I was selfish. I didn't like the part of where people ask you how you are doing or if everything is alright? I thought it was them trying to get into my personal business. Now I turn 27 in July and I'm wondering why the heck I am a loner and spend most of my free time online? Suddenly now that I've been going on the PMO streaks and I'm no longer jerking off to porn everyday I am so much more aware of the loneliness. There's been some nights I just cry myself to sleep thinking I'll die alone. I've decided to put my pride down and start reconnecting with old friends again. Going to new churches and hopefully meet new friends and if possible a good church girl.

Point is...go out and interact with people. Start conversations and don't be afriad of rejection like we are often prone to be. I say to myself everyday now to just live because when porn used to own my life it would never ask for permission to ruin my social life. Now it's your turn to run YOUR life as you see fit my friend.

Good luck and I am looking forward to hearing better things from you :)

You need to start by addressing the self-hatred and depression. I like this author: david burns. I'm reading "when panic attacks" to help me with anxiety. Therapy can also help greatly.

It's hard to make friends when you're not happy and don't enjoy life. Focus on those things first and the rest will follow.

You are not alone dude. Today I cried the shit out of me and I´m dealing with depression and the loss of my girlfriend, was in psychiatry because of relationship loss fears and now struggling with almost everything.
Life can be fucked up, but like somebody already wrote: Life goes on and we do have many years to enjoy it.
I am also 29 and ask myself almost every day: "Fuck, in a few month I will be 30, what the hell have I done"?
But we all know: We can´t change the past!
