In the last months I begin to watch porn that does not match with my sexual orientation, and getting aroused. In that way, I was able to get aroused with gay and transwoman sex, even if I'm not attracted to men in real life... that confused me, and I began to think that I was just pushing barriers and evolving towards some kind of pansexuality... now I see that it's a normal thing among people that have watched too much porn.

And I'm not talking only about those "extreme" cases... I also found myself enjoying with kind of women that I doubt they could get me aroused in real life. I was even scared that there would be no limit and eventually I would find myself looking for illegal material. It's like after so much porn, my brain got bored of hot (according to my standards) women, and needed to start to cutting himself too feel alive.

Anyway... did that happen to you? How did you feel about it?

Well you are not on good way. But at least you realize that you have problem and that is start. You should probably stop watching any kind of porn before it escalates even more.
Personally i never had need to cross that line. I was into solo girls "genre" and sometimes regular porn. Even that made me feel disgusting about myself afterwards.

I'm on the good way. :)

I read somewhere in this forum that there are two kind of people: those who are trying to quit, and those who quitted. I'm in the second group.

  4. Really? Prove it. There's no other way.
I have never crossed the line myself, though I remember seeing some gay porn when I was 12. Only one sex channel was on TV, and I was unlucky, it was a guys only night. During the years I've seen a lot of weird stuff, but never anything extreme, but after a while I got bored of it and turned to the vanilla style. One-on-one, sometimes a threesome on those "art-porn" style sites. I wasn't even too fond of lesbian videos either.

I'm on it. Unfortunately, it takes time.

I just found out about the NoFap two days ago, and it only took ten minutes to realize this is what I need.

Maybe it's not the key to my happiness, but it is definitely a first step I need to take.

  6. I agree, nofap doesn't always change the world but it will make life better that's for sure. Well, you certainly has a positive attitude towards nofap, let's see if you can back those words up. Stay strong!

Sexuality is very fluid and almost nobody is strictly homosexual or heterosexual. Not in the sense that you would go out and seek same sex relationships but in the sense that you can to some level appreciate both genders.
Under normal conditions you would have no reason to explore it more because you could get a complete satisfaction from heterosexual relationships. Even bisexual men can live happy lives and never act upon their bisexuality if they choose not to.
With porn or sex addiction the decentralization will lead to a need for something new and more extreme.
Even to the point when it begins to conflict with your idea of your own sexuality.

The fact that you are freaked out by "transwoman" porn shows that you don't think of them as a females but as a gay men.
Many completely straight men are able to watch transsexual porn without any problems because they think of those people as women.

My advice to you is not to give a damn about it.

Hi Ryman, welcome. I don't know where you are at with your education, but extreme porn abuse often leads users to porn that is contrary to their orientation. It is actually common. It is our dopamine soaked brain's way of trying to push more dopamine. When normal won't push the button anymore, our brains want extreme. That is why many report going from vanilla porn to extreme hardcore. There is an explanation:

Get educated. Get tools. Learn to love withdrawals.

If you have not already, you will find a link to K9 in the tips section at nofap.org I suggest you install it. It will not stop you from accessing porn, but it will slow you down. Once your dopamine levels come down to pre porn levels, which could take some time, you'll be good as gold.

    My story:

    Good luck on your journey.

PMO'ing to types of women that you would not be attracted to or even repulsed by in real life is a textbook PMO addiction symptom, I know its how I used to be before my reset, I would always have a a strong feeling of shame/embarrassment and regret afterwards, and its even more obvious as with my most recent relapse ( post reset) I girls I PMO'd to where the type that I would go for in real life and this time there wasn't any shame or regretful feelings afterwards.

Hello Ryman, I agree with William. I have crossed the line myself. My experience has shown that the more porn I watched the more it drifted from my original orientation. Your pleasure center becomes so used up, that stronger feelings like guilt, humiliation and repulsion are needed to cause any effect.

Still it's not who you really are, youre inner core is unchangeable. Just like you cant convert a gentic homosexual. I wish you to find a nice wife eventually! :)

    Thanks, man!

But, to be honest, my main reason to join NoFap is to improve my ability to focus... I abandoned my Ph. D. Thesis because I was unable to make any progress, giving up a government grant in a country where getting funding for your Doctoral studies is too damn hard. Now they offered me another chance, where another advisor, in another place, working on a different topic... and I'm really considering to accept, but I need to get my shit together and make sure that the same won't happen again.

Don't misunderstand me, I also want to be more social, less awkward, to improve my mood... but the second I read about how quitting PMO helps you to focus your mind is the second I decided to give it a try.
