Discipline = Freedom and Extreme Ownership

Discussion in 'Self Improvement' started by Deleted Account, Sep 17, 2019.

  1. Ive wanted to change my life around and so Ive been looking into mastering the art of discipline. I discovered a couple of books by Navy Seal Jocko Willink, one is Discipline = Freedom and the Other is Extreme Ownership. I love his no nonsense approach to mastering discipline. Part of his philosophy is just do it, you want to stop eating sugar, stop eating sugar. Want to get up early, get up early. Don't think about it just do it. And I love this philosophy, you want to stop looking at porn just stop looking at porn. And in Extreme Ownership, he talks a lot about taking ownership over everything (although its more of a book on leadership) I think we should all take ownership of our lives and our choices and the consequences.

I think, man this guy has done all these things. He's been to war in Iraq, he's watched some of his men die. Now that hes out of the war he's teaching people how to be leaders, how to master the art of discipline. He wakes up every day at 4:30 and workouts hard, trains ju jitsu, and does podcasts and teaches people throughout the day. It makes my goals seem much easier to conquer.

Jocko is good. Ive listened to alot of his podcasts and always am better for it. One thing I want to say. Youre not weak and pathetic so quit telling yourself you are. You're on here to change your life i assume. Start by changing the way you talk to yourself. At least get rid of those words on your profile and if you cant think of anything good to say about yourself ,you can at least say you're working to better yourself. I wish you the best brother. You're worth it.
