Do binaural beats and affirmations work?

I know science says it's all placebo. But anyone with anecdotal evidence? There are binaural beats, affirmations videos and frequencies for things like becoming manlier to increasing testosterone. I've listened to them since 2011 and I think you have to listen to one track for 21 days to be effective. I have so many issues that I listen to about 13 different tracks daily. Not sure if not placebo but some of them make me feel good. And now tell me your experience guys (and ladies), please! :)

Works like a charm for me. For the past month or so, if not more, I've listened to various affirmations and guided meditations every night before bed, and it has improved several aspects of my life. However, I don't necessarily think 'the more the better' as I can imagine listening to 13 different tracks regarding different issues in one day, might be information overload? Like, becoming more of a distraction? I try to focus on one theme each day, depending on how I feel that particular day. Themes could be 'positive affirmations', 'non-attachment', 'inner peace', 'sleep hypnosis', 'chakra meditation', 'dissolving negative energy', 'over-active mind', and so on. :3

The "Science" of the system tells a lot of shit, i think.

I listend to a lot of this Healing Chakra Frequencies while meditating the last weeks and for me it works really really good. Lot of my anxietys are more calm and i'm more open and free. But i think it really takes time like you said.

Somewhere i read it's more effective if you focus only on one for a longer time. Then continue to another.

I do think they work but avoiding PMO boosts their power in my experience. And some like the depression ones didn't work when I was constantly PMOing. I wonder if I should focus on 1 single track? I have 7 now but 6 are on the same theme of becoming more masculine (masculinizing frequency, bigger hand muscles and bones, attractive masculine face shape, etc.). The other one is Adrenals healing which I definitely need.

I did a single track for like a week, then switch to another but still the same theme. I'm doing the same theme now for about 4 weeks i think. Works good. And yeah I think PMO just blocks us in so many ways, that "mantras" like this couldn't help either.

  6. There have been a couple of studies on Binaural beats that suggested that they do not do what they are intended to do (i.e. they don't cause entrainment, or cause your brain to actually go into the states corresponding to the Binaural beat) - however, the same studies also did find that they do at least produce relaxation (perhaps in part due to their similarity to or inclusion of white noise/pink noise, which also relaxes you).

So they perhaps don't work in the traditional way that they were originally expected to work. So, scrap them? No, not at all. I actually really like binaural beats. They're much more pleasant to listen to than white noise or pink noise, get me more relaxed, and are a great way to warm up prior to meditation or any form of trance exercise.

Affirmations also certainly work when spoken yourself. If you're listening to an affirmation track, I suggest choosing one where the person says "You are..." instead of "I am...", otherwise your brain will just hear it as if they are speaking about themselves, and isn't likely to reap any benefit from it. When saying them yourself though of course use "I".

If you really want something powerful along these lines, I suggest seeing a hypnotherapist or listening to some hypnosis tracks. Hypnosis tracks will pale in comparison to seeing a real hypnotherapist since it is much easier to create a deep trance and a lasting impact from such an in person session than it is over some mp3 audio track - but you can counter the lowered efficacy by simply listening to the same track over and over.

I've successfully used these tracks for my arachnophobia. I used to run shouting like a little girl if I saw a spider - and I'm a grown man! A few months ago, after some hypnosis sessions, I was able to pick up such a spider on the palm of my hand, without feeling afraid.

They've also helped me with a whole host of other things. I've recently learned how to write my own hypnosis scripts, which has opened up a whole new level to it as I can hand craft a script for any purpose I need. (Yes, listening to your own hypnosis tracks is just as effective as if it's someone else - in fact, perhaps more so in some cases)

I recommend this YouTube channel for hypnosis tracks:

Before you listen, it helps to know HOW to listen to hypnosis. Yes, it's not just as simple as listening, at least not for everyone. Hypnosis is not some form of trickery like it's made out to be on TV, where someone hypnotises and controls you. That's just good stage acting. In the real world, you cannot hypnotise someone without their expression permission. It is the person being hypnotised who accepts the suggestions, of their own accord.

Hypnotherapists have found that there are two types of people with regards to hypnosis. A significant amount of people, usually those very creatively minded and expressive - find that when they listen to hypnosis, they can easily go along with it. When the hypnotist asks them to allow themselves to relax, their relaxation is almost automatic.

On the other hand, you have the "analytical types". These are the other half of people who tend to be very much in their heads - if you're one of these people you'll know very quickly when listening to hypnosis, because rather than going along with it, you'll find yourself asking questions like "Is this working?" "What's supposed to happen?" "Why did he/she say that?" "Why don't I feel relaxed?". Since hypnosis is designed to speak directly to your subconscious mind, consciously questioning the process is like building a wall in front of your subconscious - completely rendering the hypnosis ineffective.

The solution for analytical types is to ignore the hypnotist. It sounds weird, but it works. Instead of listening to the words they speak, simply zone out and day-dream about something unrelated. Your subconscious mind will then be able to hear all the instructions given, and take any suggestions, without the interference of your conscious chatter. So, it'll work like a treat.

Well when I'd get appendix pain a couple of plays of the Appendicitis track did dissipate the pain. So even if they rely on placebo, there's something about them. I also use Rife (sp?) frequencies and Isochoric tones. Basically that's the only "music" I listen to as normal pop music would cause panic attacks for me. I can tolerate some of it now, but I seem to gravitate towards guitar pop-rock or pop-punk, mostly sung by males like Green Day (an effect from NoFap, I no longer relate to music by female artists, I basically find I just watch their videos now to enjoy the sight. No more copying of their behavior (I've always liked girls, but felt like a lipstick lesbian in a male body lol) which means my hormones are back to normal) I no longer feel like acting like Katy Pery et al., I wonder how they look undressed more often than before. I definitely think certain cases of gender dysphoria are just caused by excessive porn & masturbation.

13 is a lot. In what types of files are they? Mp3? I wonder if the format would cause different effects.
I listen to Kelly Howell - Desire Guided Meditation for days now. It helps to relax. I listened to it before bed, so most of the time I fell asleep, without finishing it.

Yes, Binaural Beats works. It works like When our brain makes up that imaginary beat, our brainwave syncs up to that specific frequency. In other words, if we listen to 410hz in one ear and 400hz in the other, Our brain will start to resonate with the 10hz binaural beat. Our brainwaves will be at a frequency of 10hz.

Hi guys i made my own binaural beat. Its a pure beat from gamma to delta to help put you in a trance state of mind. This helps people who struggle to get in the flow by taking you from high brain activity to subconscious brain activity. check it out here
