Do not use dating sites

Discussion in 'Dating during a Reboot' started by the lone wanderer, Mar 28, 2017.

  1. My personal opinion and lesson!
Do not use dating sites period, especially while on reboot! Thats like going to a bar and demanding non alcoholic drinks, while giving up drinking! Everyone knows what those sites promote and what most guys want from there! I know personally how many times ive looked trying to get some! I'm not going to name apps becuase i dont wanna trigger someone, but some of you know what I mean! If you wanna make things easier on yourself, dont use dating sites or apps!

What was the quote, Don't drive while drunk, shop while hungry, or date while horny?

  3. Man, when I was on day 30 or something, I continued to use dating websites. Sure, it did make me feel some strong urges, but I eventually blocked it out and continued using them. lmao I wan't there to get off at pics, but to hook up a one night stand. I don't recommend this to everyone though, as it does take a level of will power, or whatever you want to call it.

But yeah, most dating sites are riddled with scams. The paid ones have much less scammers, but I never tried a paid version before. I can give you some red flags to look out for when deciding if one is a scammer or not, trust me. lol

Eventually I got tired of that shit, went on craigslist and hooked up with a twink for a one night stand, lost my virginity. It's not even a big deal bro, losing your virginity, but some things must be burried right? Anways, keep your head up, spread love an positivity, and continue the strong nofap fight.

By the way, I can't and don't recommend anyone to go on craigslist. Let's just say you better pack heat if you wanna venture into this, because things can turn from alright to HELL real quick in the real world. Whatever you do, be safe.

Yourbrainonporn says not to use them. That's why there's hardmode, and monkmode. Monkmode, as I'm sure you're aware, but saying it again, is no artificial stimuli. No dating sites, no facebook, etc.

Just another addiction you have to break for the time being. You can return to it after your reboot. But now. Get rid of it. You don't need it.

When I finally ditch Tinder and other dating apps, my fight of PMO suddenly become easier.

Maybe can go to paid dating sites, more real potential there perhaps. although I never tried it myself

When the time comes though. Dating sites are p-subs. So steer clear of them.

Always good to hear from another Wanderer!

Yeah, I agree with pretty much all of that. Besides, you're probably better off going out and meeting real people in person than dealing with all the scams and fake profiles on dating sites. After all, even if you do meet "the one" on a dating website, you'll eventually have to meet them in person, and you'll need to have brushed up on your social skills if you want to keep them around. As far as I'm concerned, it's much better to just practice practice practice by talking to real girls so you'll be ready when you do eventually meet someone you really like.

It works guys. Go suit up. Meet real people.

120 days more or less on without PMO I have decided to stop browsing on dating websites too such Plenty of Fish. I think it has caused my second flatline which I am battling through. What do you think about it?

I will try to stop browsing them at least for 90 days, it will be a challenge.

  13. Thanks for your question! In my personal opinion, take it day by day! Don't make a goal, a week, a year, or any timeline. What happens is you think its been 45 days and im halfway there, thats good enough.
I always tell people tomorrow never comes! What I mean is I would be like, I'll quit tommorrow, next week or after I'm done with this girl. Its always one lame excuse for another.
Do it today! Delete the account and app right now! I've used those apps countless times and got burned and hurt! Take it from me, the shame and guilt isn't worth the rush! I've quit all that crap since September and my brain is detoxing and healing!

Not everyone has a lot of options to meet people offline. I sure don't. I often work twelve hour days when I am not on weekends or holidays & as I am a teacher it is predominantly women & little kids. Not men. I DO on occasion go to meet ups & stuff but I rarely like the guys or vice Versa. But I don't get triggered by dating sites anyway and perhaps for people who DO and who DO have more time to meet people in real life then stay off them. I don't have a decent body and I only have face photos on there, no bikini shots and nothing sexual in my profile. But yes for some people, avoiding dating sites makes rebooting easier. I LIKE nice abs, but it doesn't get me all horny. If it DID I'd probably have to avoid them too! Plus I live in the UK where guys have to often be drunk to even APPROACH a woman! So it's not like one rule for all. But I appreciate for some people yes it may help to avoid them.
