Do you feel gross? The key to rebooting could lie therein

I was reading through Lazarus Shuttlesworth's thread "Where was the weirdest place you jerked off?" and I noticed a few people mentioned how shameful and gross they felt because of what they did. I realized that I also felt this too, and it got me thinking.. maybe there is some connection here.

When you PMO, you feel gross, right? It's a gross thing, isn't it?

And since you have to convince yourself that it's the type of thing that someone like you would do, in order to give in to this temptation, then.. you have to convince yourself that you are, basically, a gross person.

Are there things in your life that make it easy for you to convince yourself that you are gross? Things that cause you to identify with grossness?

I look around my apartment and I see a dirty floor needing mopped, stuff lying around everywhere in a random mess.. Empty candy wrappers lying around... and I realize... These things are making it easier for me to relapse.

I feel gross because of the unhealthy food I eat. I feel gross because I am lazy enough to be OK with living in a dirty, messy environment. I feel gross because I slouch, I don't brush my teeth or shower often enough, and I have gained too much weight.

I think the key to rebooting could be to create an environment, a system of circumstances, where you see yourself as NOT a gross person. And I think the key here is: if you had a guest over, would you want them to see your place the way it is now? Or to see you the way you are now?

Clean your room, wash your clothes, get dressed, brush your teeth, wash the dishes, and feel good about yourself!

The important thing is to always keep it up. Always clean up after yourself. Always keep things organized. Always practice hygiene. Then when the thought crosses your mind to PMO, you will say, "No, that would be disgusting."

Live a life in which you wouldn't be ashamed to always have the door open. A life in which, if anyone walked in on you at any given moment of the day, you wouldn't feel ashamed to talk to them the next time you saw them. If you can always feel this way about yourself, then you won't find it so easy to relapse.

What do you guys think about this theory?

Yeah I started brushing twice daily after quitting PMO, when during me old PMO self that would never happen, even if i was going out with Scarlett Johansson id only brush once. Now i voluntarily brush twice, bathe more, do Yoga, Meditation, Walking, Workout, Nutrition, grooming, Eye resting, reading, fix up my room, watch movies, finish my school work early, draw more, play piano more, i'm more socially adept, Im more mature, I'm more an adult, I'm connected with spirituality, Im open to new ideas and suggestions, I want to improve myself...the list goes on. Stay on nofap and pick up some new habits, slowly but surely.
