I am talking about people who refer to themselves and others as "alpha".
Stemming from animal´s Alpha Males, more or less the chief of the tribe.

I can´t help but laugh when I see people go on "dude, you must be more alpha" or "Girls want Alpha Males"

I don´t know when this trend started but for me it´s the same as yolo and swag and hipster and hippie and free-love and thug-life and whatever.

I don´t see the point in being an overly "cool" being who is too cool to talk, to socialize and
who thinks money, being a manwhore and being in the gym and partying are the only important things in life.

If any of you guys still refer to themselves and others as Alpha Males. I ask you to stop in consideration of your well-being.

Even, comparing yourself to an animal is a really pitiful thing to do.
Thinking one is superior because he is ruthless and has no selfcontrol, no behaviour and no manners is a pretty mentally ill thing to do.

Appointing people into Alpha, Beta, Omega and whatever categories, I really laugh at such embarassing people.

Just wanted to throw this in here.

"Alpha" and "beta" are easy ways to describe different men's relationships with women, and how they respond when their boundaries are violated. Anyway, having money makes personal development easier, you don't want to socialize with people who drag you down, "being in the gym" is hard work and pays off in more ways than making you look handsome, and I don't know much about partying but I won't knock it till I try it.

@himmelstoss You are right in what you write, but you completely missed the point of what I have written.

I will complement this so people don´t get me wrong: The essence of what I have written is: The worth of a man is not determined with "how alpha he is"
The strength of a man is not determined with "how alpha he is" and most of all, his manliness is not determined with "how alpha he is".
I have seen so many great men who are gentle at heart, know how to come to a compromise and overall are honorable men.

Sure, many girls want strong men, but they don´t want animals. For that they buy a cat or a dog.

An animal in bed is not the same as a pet in bed. Ideally you got both.

@Immor Well I prefer a person with whom I can also share my feelings in bed instead of brainless horny animal. I am not into bestiality.
@himmelstoss That´s a bona fide definition of a modern "Alpha Male" if you listen to and read all the media.

I once also was into Alpha Male and Red Pill, Blue Pill, Oneitis and so on.
Actually real "Alpha Males" don´t refer to themselves or others als Alpha, Beta or whatever.
The ones who actually use the phrase "Alpha Male" are all wanna-be in the hope that they will become more successful if they use those words.
I don´t want to hurt your feelings but I won´t apologize because that´s my honest, well-considered opinion.

Inwardly arrogant. Feels superior for no reason. Ruthless. May be loud. Often agressive because he feels threatened. Often between 18 and 30 years old.
Thinks by being agressive, assertive, dominant ( in reality overbearing and bossy) and acting all tough and invincible he is superior, all girls fall for him and he is the coolest on earth. Usually with lower IQ then others.
The very word Alpha Male was adapted by insecure, attention-seeking guys who could not compete with real men.
They wanted to justify being violent, loud and bugging others.

That´s the reality version of Alpha Male. The ideal version may be another, but the above description is how things are.

Seeing as a female on this forum, Strugglesaurus, like my post, is see my opinion underlined.

If I may, I would like to offer an alternate version of the definition of an "alpha" individual, which is shown in this blog article:
    http://chadhowsefitness.com/2012/11/25-characteristics-of-an-alpha-male

If that's your version of reality, surely since the "ideal" and "reality" are so different, it would be unfair to keep defining the word "alpha" as used in the "real" context.

My interpretation of an "alpha" individual would be that there is no difference between an "alpha" and a "real" individual. (ie Alpha does not equal arsehole)

  14. Unfortunately, it's not whether you're for alpha or against it (your definition is rather subjective, anyway). It's how to be alpha in a way that doesn't compromise your true personality. I believe it's perfectly fine to have a sense of arrogance or cockiness. You think Bill Gates or Warren Buffett didn't remind themselves every day that they were the greatest, hardest working men in their industries? They ate, slept and shit the alpha mentality. But it's finding that perfect equilibrium so that you still maintain the initial fiber of who you are.

I am NOT an alpha. I can honestly say that I defer to others both professionally and in my personal life. But I'm always fighting to be number one. And the thing about being the best is you can never get comfortable. Someone is always looking to take your spot and you have to put them in their place, so to speak.

That's cool. I do not consider myself to be "alpha" either, but I think it is something quantised that people can aspire to in order to improve themselves and just generally be better human beings.

I strive to be alpha while still being kind at heart.
Your defiition of alpha is very subjective.

  19. They're easy descriptors that people can understand without having to put too much thought into it. They can be superficially useful, sometimes. But I think that 99% of the men who fantasize about becoming "Alpha" have no clue about how to actually win people's respect--women's respect in particular. And their attempts to act "Alpha" are recognized for phony posturing, and held in understandable contempt. This is where sites like PUAhate come from.

I think it's understandable for sexually frustrated adolescents. Hell, I had a trace of it when I was 17-18, but I grew out of it. When a guy in his mid 20s (or older) believes this, though... I wouldn't say there's no hope for such men, but it's a pretty sad situation.

Tl;Dr: A leader is someone who simply excels, and earns admiration because he deserves it. The stuff being sold as Red Pill "truths"/PUA game/whatever it's called now wins no admirers, because it appeals to men who fundamentally despise themselves. Don't be one of those men.
