I've smoked, vaped and ingested in moderation off and on since the 70's. Weed is not nearly as dangerous as alcohol, although I also drink in moderation. In 2012 over 3 million deaths globally were attributed to alcohol consumption. We tried Prohibition with alcohol in the USA but it was a fiasco, yet so many of us believe that prohibition will somehow work with weed rather than driving it to the black market. When I lived in Kentucky in the 80's weed was the number one cash crop even though it was illegal. Law enforcement was able to eradicate an estimated 3 to 5 percent of the crop and while doing so drove up the price on the black market, making it more profitable. We are wasting law enforcement resources that could be put to better use.

  2. Thankfully I managed to quit that. Day 1 is awesome, day 2 ok. By day 30 I hated what I had become.
Luckily I managed to stop. Drugs are cool when you're young, but need to be carefully used when older. And it's ok to move on from them.
    Good luck man.

  3. theres alot of pro-weed propaganda around nowadays. Sure, its not gonna give you cirrhosis/destroy your organs like alcohol if used daily, but its not a miracle plant and it has many serious side-effects. Many people abuse it daily thinking that it is helping their anxiety or depression. In reality, it is either masking these problems, or downright causing them. They stop for a few days, get struck with insomnia/depression/anxiety, cant handle that and go back to using it. What they dont realize is that these are the withdrawal symptoms of cannabis and it will take several weeks before you are able to sleep without it and feel better psychologically. For me it got worse before it got better, but after a month my anxiety improved dramatically and my sleep got deep and actually refreshing (dreams returned too). Use it for recreational reasons once a week sure, but dont get reliant on it

No, I don't smoke it. It's for the same reason that I don't smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol; because I see no benefit in using it. I don't know how I feel about the legalization of marijuana. I haven't thought about it or prayed about it.

Has anyone on this forum ever heard of cannabis induced psychosis (CIP). If not I suggest you look it up.

I think it is a waste of time like any other pleasurable experience that requires no work. I think the world would be a lot better off without it.

I smoke sometimes, maybe once a week. But during that period i have feeling like i am getting narco. I am not sure am sick or can not live without weeds but i have such a thoughts sometimes

  14. I used to smoke weed in High School and college, but I haven't in almost 30 years. I believe that it should be legal, but it isn't all good.
While weed isn't physically addictive or as dangerous as alcohol or hard drugs, it isn't harmless.
Weed is psychologically addictive just like pornography and masturbation. It also saps your drive/ambition just like pornography and masturbation.
It is a tool just like everything else. It can be used and misused.

Just because alcohol is bad doesn't make weed good. It is a dangerous drug that PERMANENTLY lowers your IQ

This happened to a good friend of mine. Many people who are pro cannabis will discredit this without so much of a first thought. Cannabis Induced psychosis is very real and I experienced this happening first hand. It took months for him to recover. Thankfully that was years ago and he’s doing very well now.

As for smoking cannabis, unless it’s medically prescribed for health reasons, or you are disciplined and use it in moderation (which most cannabis users are not) I don’t see the point. Most common reason I hear is because it “makes me feel good”. A feeling is just a feeling and when you sober up your problems remain the same.

  17. I used to, started after I left the Navy. Had a very low tolerance (two hits and quit) got more and more into it. 3 months ago I put my last 1/8 into the offering basket at church along with my cigarettes. I quit both cold turkey. I'll say I the cigarettes are 10x worse, I want one right now, while I could give or take on weed.
