Do you think this new age of porn is much worse than previous more addictive

Discussion in 'Problematic Sexual Behavior' started by Deleted Account, Feb 2, 2020.

  1. Porn has got more and more whackadoo in recent years .porn has always been crazy enough , but recently the genres are becoming more and more fucked up and clearly a lot of people are struggling with this shit .

Why so many people developing weird fetishes

It seems more and more are getting pied , weird fetishes , damaging there marriages , and relationships , and questioning sexuality because of some weird warped shit

Is it just me but has porn become more and more addictive.
This new generation probably have it the worst as this is what they are growing up with .

  2. As the internet became a bigger part of our every day lives, and access to this material- and social media too - of course things were only gonna get worse! Luckily for us, there is a beacon of light in the form of the NoFap!

  3. Porn is addictive and therefore it's users suffer from escalation. No wonder that now we've had porn for a couple of decades the extremity of the material needed to arouse the average person has increased, so "mainstream" porn is now more extreme.

I wish I could say something cheery, but for as long as most people are using pornography this will only get worse. Just as a cocaine user requires higher doses to keep the "honeymoon period" going, so does the porn user need more depraved and shocking content to stay hard. All we can do is raise awareness and live abstinent lives ourselves.

I think it is getting worse yes. The porn industry has had a good 15 years of unrivaled chances of perfecting their online capabilities. The online porn imperium is so ingrained in all that is online that it's prevalence is only going to get greater

It's the access that's so damaging. Instead of walking in a store to purchase this stuff you can incognito a browser and stream until your hearts content. I worry about my son. I have an 8 year old and know that he'll stumble on this eventually. Over Christmas we had some kids over for a family Christmas and one took his tablet and was looking at nudes. I know it's a matter of time and what do i say to him? Sorry for hijacking the topic lol

Most definitely! The child's parents actually left, on there own, after he was caught. Luckily my son is at an age that sees nudity as funny and not sexual.

I am an older guy (31) and I tell you it has always been very degrading and violent. Even in 2002-3 I remember watching group stuff where the men were doing everything roughly with the women.

It's just so readily available now

It's all easily accessible. There are sex scenes in TV and movies, and it's all considered normal. It's only becoming more graphic with each passing movie. Not watching porn is considered uncool. Remaining a virgin is considered uncool. Unlike drugs, there is no taboo associated with porn. With drugs and cigarettes, at least the person knows that drugs (and cigarettes) are harmful, so that knowledge may control his intake. But with porn there is very less awareness that it is harmful for the mind.

What's worse is the porn of the past that is now fully accessible.

Before high speed internet, you would have to rend videos or sit in a booth at a video store. You needed to find the time and make the effort to attend. When an actress that you liked dropped off the scene, you would never see her again.

Now I have found the porn that I used in the video stores. The actresses that I missed and moved on from have now reappeared in my life.

I remember the first time i watched porn was my brothers dvd’s he had back in the day and i would have to sneak them here and there but eventually we got a computer so i would sneak on that as well and then eventually i got a phone and it all went downhill from there.. the accessibility and the wide range of content its just a horrible mix and if only i knew the effects this would have long term i would have never got this deep. Thankfully i found nofap and got educated and decided i didnt want that life anymore but what about the next generation that have no clue the rabbit hole theyre about to go down? And no kids as young as 3 or 4 have tablets so the age they are exposed could potentially get younger! Im worried about what this new age of porn will due to our youth and they dont even know what they’re getting into.

  14. I am in my 60's. In the early 80's I lived outside of Washington, DC. If I wanted to see an adult movie in an adult movie theater (do they still have those?), I had to walk to the bus stop, ride the bus to the metro, take the metro downtown, walk a couple blocks to these seedy little adult theater called "Casino Royale," walk in to the theater which was always so dark, try not to sit near anyone, don't touch anything, watch the movie and the previews (I can still hear the funky music that went with them), walk back to the metro, metro to the bus, the bus home, jerk off. The whole thing took five hours. Fast forward. You are familiar with the replicators on Star Trek? "Computer: ham sandwich, mayo!" And instantly there it is! Picard: "Tea, Earl Grey, hot." That's what the web is: a porn replicator. Anything you want, instantly, free. There's nothing in our evolution that prepared us for this. That's what they call a hyper-stimulant.
The first porn I saw would have been a "stag film." Some kid finds this little stash of these 8 or 16 mm films in his father's closet. A bunch of 14 or 15 year old's would get together at someone's house. You had to have gone to a an office supply store and rented a projector as most people didn't have them. The films would be black and white, grainy, the men and women were not particularly attractive, the women all had bushes. It would have been the first time any of us saw oral penetration or any other kind of penetration. Pretty straight stuff. And now, as you know, 10 or 11 year old's are seeing full scale modern explicit porn as often as we are. Sex was scary enough for me, I do not know what I would have done if I'd watched all that porn years before I even had thoughts of kissing a girl.
Of course, people are addicted to the web and to their computers in general. And now we know that those Silicon Valley geniuses have done this on purpose, developing algorithms analyzing our individual habits on line and tailoring ads and click bait to each one of us to keep us hooked.
There is no other product or info that is delivered this efficiently.
It's not hopeless. We need to smarten up, know ourselves and our brains better than we have. There is clearly a movement to wake up and support each other. Our culture has always failed to handle sex in any kind of mature way and we are paying the price now. And many people are waking up and making better choices.
It was/is just a lot harder than we thought it would be.

Considering the level of accesibility we have right now to this kind of material in varying degrees of messed up too then yes. Definitely worse

I’ve been lucky not to fall into this escalation. My porn has always been low key. The hardcore kinky stuff never did for me and it turns me off..

Back before streaming porn, you had to attend the video store to buy or rent your porn.

They had listed genres/fetishes, but if you were curious about a different fetish or genre, you need to purchase or rent the video. If you liked a preview, you would also have to rent or purchase the video. The entire video would also be based on the fetish/genre, so you had to be either all in or you would likely not rent or purchase the video. The video needed to be fast forwarded and/or rewound. There was little room for casual curiosity.

You also had to enter the store and put the video title before the clerk to check it out.

Now, you can check and peruse the genre/fetish for free. If it grosses you out, just find the next clip that you like. If you like it, then watch it. You can follow pop-ups instantly. It is all private and nobody will ever know.

With the fast availability of porn for no money and no accountability there are more people who's casual curiosity has evolved into a fetish. Now that more people are hooked, there is probably more fetish porn out there.

Clearly the free porn sites and downloads are having a huge effect with those who have the privacy to view it. You can solve the problem by pulling the plug on your internet access. It's fantasy at best, at the worst it is the most awful freak show of abuse as can be imagined, there is a lot of sick crap out there that should be outlawed.

Even the Puritans believed in openness; by keeping things hidden they usually get worse, you can't heal what you can't feel either. If you were in proximity to what is being filmed you would be disgusted by the smells and how small and shrunken the actors are usually.
