Just asked it 'cause I've heard and read that changing location works a great deal in breaking habits. Also I was out for a week and it all went smooth. No urges. So, does it help, I still have some doubt?
i rearranged my computer (threw out the monitor in my living room) and rearranged to my apartment to break patterns - I also open the shades all the time.. yes it does help to break patterns and its' good for a temporary kick start, but you have to get to the root of why you PMO - anxiety, escapee? and find and nuture healthy alternatives or your mind will start searching for a new way to engage. There are some cases with addiction where change of environment helps - during the Vietnam war a lot of guys were hooked on herion and opium but came back to their family environments and gave it up - that would only work in a case of a complete environmental change IMOP, moving back to a small town where the drug wasn't readily available - unfortunately drugs, porn etc are readily available just about anywhere these days.
I think yes. Any distance you put between you and your addiction is good: mental, physical, temporal, etc.
Yes I moved out of the run down house I grew up in to a well kept house with lots of plants and it felt like a new clean beginning and allowed me to abstain for much longer. It’s still not a magic solution though.
