Ive reas Older people tender recover faster because in their early days they weren't used to porn. They were used to magazinez and naked picture so their brain had to be utalized more for imagination. Unlike magazine, in porn u dont need to use your imagination.

I mean in general when normal people who aren’t pmo addicts or recovering say they have some anxiety because of something in their life I really don’t think it’s as intense as the anxiety from withdrawal. They can probably cope with it better and it’s not that bad. Most including myself can’t even function properly from the anxiety withdrawal causes

Oh man! I exactly have these symptoms! Hot flashes (both body and head!) are killing me! also, brain fog and anxiety disorder are the worst... I didn't know these are dopamine withdrawal symptoms...
I went to the doctor today. He gave me Ginkgo extract pills. Now when I searched about them it is said that they affect dopamine on the brain! So I guess it should work! Does anyone have any experience of anti-depressants which work on dopamine? I think these kinds of pills will help us recover faster. Anyway, today when I asked the doctor to gave me a dopamine booster pill he refused! He just gave me Buspirone. But when I searched on the internet I found that It's a dopamine antagonist. I won't take it... Anyone has experiences?

I am experiencing all these symptoms after quitting porn since this past January. There is no telling how long it will take for these symptoms to vanish as everyone has a different history of porn usage. Frequency of use and masturbation techniques among other things play a role in how long it takes to recover.

  6. Thanks for the information and help and inspiration you have posted on this forum. Can i ask, what level of anxiety symptoms did you have in the days just before you felt a lot better, were they still pretty bad?

I ask because i want to know how much i should try to deal with these symptoms which began for me after i quit pmo and edging, such as with therapy or ssris and how much i should just wait it out.

    Thankyou

Did anyone have any twitching for anxiety or just withdrawal symptoms? I’m noticing I’m having some eye twitching and feel like I need to blink a lot sometimes. It’s mainly when I’m feeling really stressed or around people. Obviously right now I’m more iritatble and get upset more often. I’ve had people point it out to me and asked if I was on drugs or something because I feel I need to blink every second or two sometimes.

  8. I've had some twitching. I think it's the anxiety. I felt like a crack addict because I was also extremely scared, fidgety and looking everywhere. It's hard to tell your self that everything is going to be ok if you are also loosing your shit. Stay strong. We can do this.

On the days before I got well, the anxiety was bad and intense than it has always been (though before that night, it was usually bad on average). Those days before I got well, I would fidget for no good reason.

  12. Thanks for responding, I would bet on PAWS being real, I've been anxious in the past but this feels different, like a background hum of restlessnes, irritability, awkwardness and fear.

Further evidence of PAWS is the head tension, anhedonia, depression and constant sex dreams and sleep disturbances (all of which I've never had before).

I will just ride it out

You also have the brain fog and concentration problems?

  14. Yes I would say so, in order for me to have any kind of decent concentration, for coding or maths it feels like I have to up my adrenaline and REALLY focus otherwise I just sit there being slow and incapable of understanding.

Come to think of it, my concentration and memory are quite a lot worse than they were before addiction. It's hard to articulate the feeling...

I am not sure about peoples definition of brain fog though, does that sound familiar?

Yeah, you have to have apply yourself twice as hard to concentrate and focus. Apart from porn, did you abuse or take hard drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, marijuana, spice(k2), painkillers , inhalants e.t.c.?

  16. No none I've had a relatively healthy life, worked out and ate okay, I very rarely drink, I just used to edge while browsing through a lot of content for like an hour in the morning and an hour or more in the evening for like 6 years, it would leave me very tired

  17. You're not alone. 14 days without that filth and I had my first panic attack. Even had nosebleeds from the stress before that. You'd think that it's all uphill from the moment you decide to quit porn, that's how I visualized it. Rediscovering my true identity for me was the biggest reason why I wanted to quit. I thought I'd see major improvements with each passing day. No one could have prepared me for what was next. I was in my last year of college and had to quit because of this sh*t. Porn needs warnings.

Been feeling like shit a couple of days now, extremely space out feeling (like I'm not really present) and headaches/migraines. Blood work came out fine. Any advice? Could it be a extreme withdrawal stage?
