    Hi all,

I am currently reading the book: The Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle.
I was wondering if some of you did read it, and what do you think about it.

    Thanks in advance!

  2. It's pretty popular on this forum. I learned a lot from it. I think the second half of it gets a bit nutty but the first half is very insightful.

Oke, i just started to read it. Some thing make sense but a lot of what he tells is difficult to understand.

  4. I really liked it but never managed to finish it. As JackStrident says, the first half is great, the second just seemed to go on and on about the same stuff.

It takes training to stay in the now, in the moment. We tend to drift off into fantasy, which for us can lead to other things. We think about the past or the future and tend to miss the fact that we live in this instant. All we can hope to do is to remind ourselves to be in the moment. Be in the moment. Be in the moment. Over and over again. Mastery of that is a journey. Keep searching for your truth.

I used to read this stuff before Nofap. It made sense, but I couldnt apply any of it. After Nofap, it makes so much more sense. I also enjoy Anthony de Mello and Alan Watts. Things seem so much more real now. Especially relationships.

It doesn't have to be complicated. It's as simple as trying to be constantly present in the moment and realizing that whatever you feel about the past or the future is just a trick you're playing on yourself.

I think it's a great book. It helps you remind you of what "now" is and how pointless it is to create this ego and urge driven pseudo-reality with pornography.

It very mindblowing when I first read it since I had not read such content before, but it's basically modern version of buddhism. Nothing new under the sun, just interpreted in a more modern and adequate to today's society way.
