So this a very key item that contributes a lot to my relapses. Let me explain my problem.
See, I'm in 12th grade and it demands a lot of thinking and mind-based work and thus, I need my prefrontal cortex at good capacity or even simple operating capacity to function daily life. When I try to abstain from porn, even around 3-4 days after, my brain gets all messed up. I'm not able to do even plan mandatory school work. A lot of people have said that this is just a phase and the brain capacity will return and I believe that but I just am not able to sacrifice my capacity for as long as it is needed.
What do I do? My goal is to go at least 1 or 2 months by the beginning of december, but it looks as though I'm going nowhere. I really need to change something dramatically to make this work. Maybe going to the gym will help me keep my senses? Anything!

Thanks for reading, and I hope fapstinence is easier for you than it is for me.

Hi, I had the same problem, Im in 4th year at university and i got the brainfog as you, during the schoolyear. It was very hard, so i decided to abstinence during summer because of this. Im at day 77 and the brainfog starts to disappear slowly. But im 23 y/o, so i think in your case the brainfog would be disappear soon. So if i can tell you an advice, would be that: just keep going and never go back to PMO, you can fight this harder weeks which are in front of you. The only way is forward! Dont go back to pmo, just give you some time! Brainfog is suck, but its a part of the reboot. You cant escape it. Just try to relax, focus on school, meditate, do sport, and things are gonna change!

I believe that public education will play a large role as before, but gradually private education and self-study will crowd out these areas. Guys, I had a need to write a term paper. Who has experience writing? What is the structure and how to write more efficiently and constructively?

Well you can always study how to study, I don't think you're going to necessarily find that in the school system.

Maybe a month ago there was a thread on what you'd do if you're incarcerated and it went to memory, because if you don't even have books to read you'd have to go by what you can remember. There's good info on mneumonic devices out there you just have to look it up.

But of course memory is not the only mental function, there's the way you process the information you get. One of the things I'm enjoying in the reading challenge is just getting a glimpse into the authors mind on the particular topic. While I learn a lot of new facts it's also putting my mind through the way they think about it, so I am able to experience the authors mind to some extent. It's not just disconnected piece of info but their train of thought that's interesting. Do that with a good number of books, a good number of minds you cannot help but broaden your horizons.

So VARIETY is involved right? This might be one of the most basic issues I have with any addiction recovery, because virtually everywhere you look you have this time counting thing which is just limited. Only counting number of days is a bit like someone measuring art by how big the canvas is - the value depends on what the hell you put on it!

It may be a little unusual to hear, but 4 years have passed and I am interested to know how your life turned out during this period. You are probably already graduating from university or have climbed the career ladder well. Tell me what has happened over the years.
