A good while ago I read the most disturbing piece of shit sex story you could possible imagine, and the very worst thing is that it turned me on.

It was such a long time ago but I still can't get the bloody thing out my head.

These stories are very dangerous because they can mess with your imagination and mind, especially if you are masturbating to them, like I did.

Also because they are not considered 'real porn' - basically anything goes - there are some very dark topics.

It would be great to hear from other Fapstronauts who can understand my problem here - sometimes I feel a real idiot for getting worked up about stories.

    Many thanks :(

Not at all mate. Erotic stories are definitely porn, they are 100% 'real porn'. I have read some very dark stuff and got very aroused over it. I am not addicted to this form of porn particularly, but I have indulged it quite a bit over the years. I agree that it can be insanely arousing and can result in very intense orgasms. I often found them more effective than some boring video following the same old formula over and over again.

Because there are no actors, it is easy to tell yourself that it is 'harmless'. Yet many of them are based on actual events and would have been traumatic to one or members portrayed in the story. Of course, the more depraved it is, the greater the kick from it and the strong compulsion to read the next and the next... Our brains have an incredible capability for imagination. So, very perverted things can become 'real' in out minds. It is something to avoid like the plague @Millenial.

It means so much to me to read that and you understand exactly what I went through and how I feel.
It was just as you described for me - escalating from one depraved story to the next. Then one day I read a really bad one, had an ultra shameful and pleasurable orgasm and then had a complete meltdown. This was in bloody 2004!

I quit stories soon after that but the ridiculous thing is that I can't get it out of my head and heart. It is like the wretched author owns my soul.

Also I don't read any novels on any topic anymore because they feel too similar.

I would give the whole world to just unread that damn thing.

My method right now is to stop harbouring it as a secret shame and tell more people about it such as excellent fellows like your good self, therefore it hopefully loses some of it's power.
It is very reasurring to know that I am not the only one struggling with this.

This post = the truth for me! I read some really dark storylines as well, and I went looking for more... some of these are literally worse than the P videos I watched. I too was aroused. It is SCARY how that stuff can take control just like that. These are clearly the work of someone with a very messy mind.

When urges are high, I have looked at Instagram models, erotic stories... aka p-subs... I am going to consider it a relapse equivalent to PMO.

Erotic stories... avoid them at all costs!!!

  7. For me I believe they are actually worse than watching. I have a very good imagination and the people in my head are flawless looking.

Erotic stories are not p/subs. They are porn - nothing more, nothing less! It is a relapse in itself, for sure.

  9. Hi pal, don't feel like an idiot. These stories are erotic because sex piques interest and sells! It is porn because you are edging it when reading them.Just now I was watching the film 'Thanks for Sharing.' I thought at first it was educational. In fact it was arousing and dangerous for me to view! Common sense prevailed and I stopped watching.Anything that causes arousal either mentally or physically is PORN! This can vary from person to person.
By this I mean what arouses you Igy may not arouse me and vice versa. The result is the same however. There is a rush of dopamine and an act of self abuse.
Keep going and utilising the wonderful resource that this website is.
    Take care!

I used to enjoy those stories. Especially transgender stories. There was one where i fell in love (lust actually) with one of the imaginary character in the story. Got in my head real bad. I thought it was a better option than porn because the whole thing happened in my head and not on a screen. Sad.

Erotic stories are 100% porn, sometimes they can even be worse. I used to read a fair share of them, but they were about everyday people having sex. Still wrong and weird but it aroused me.
