252 days in and I just felt the strongest want to relapse that I've felt in a while. Shocking to know that even after all this time I'm still vulnerable. Just wanted to know if it's worth it; after so much time away from jerking off the benefits of nofap have diminished in my eyes. I've grown so accustomed to them that I'm having a grass is always greener scenario running through my head. Please guys. Help me out.

I've forgotten what it's like to suffer from this severely and if I don't talk to someone I might relapse within a few months.

You're yet another evidence that length of abstinence isn't really proportional to frequency or intensity of urges. Either way, I myself do not even perceive masturbation in these terms. All I care for is that my mind (conscience) is clean from promiscous fantasies and pathetic pornography. I do acknowledge that urges will always hit occasionally. It'd be boring not having anything to fight with.

The abstinence has more of a spiritual dimension for me, which is often neglected by the fapstronauts who first claim to do it for health, and then when their "health" gets back to what it's been before the initial placebo, they just slip back to the starting point, not really knowing what they're missing or how to fill the void that they're feeling.

I believe you may have urges, at points in time, forever.

As stated above, it's for a clean conscience and mind- or as good as can be.

Porn is fucking pathetic. It's not real- real, passionate sex is a beautiful thing, and must be cherished.

This, my friends, is solid advice. I just read this a couple times, and it cured some urges I was having.

Also, Clash - have you thought about setting a new goal? You've crushed the 90 days, why not set it to 365 now?

Also, your counter only says no MO. Does that mean you're still viewing porn? (just curious)

    Was wondering the same thing.

Think of all the guys that can't even put up as close the numbers you're hitting bro. You're closer to a year than a lot of us ever dream of reaching.

I'm just a newbie but your streak is amazing. Stay strong man! Think of all the time and energy you've saved by not partaking in MO.

    Keep it up!

Edit: Just read your signature quotes. Really inspiring stuff there. Thank you for posting.

    Salutations All..

Keep calm and mind over matter.

I still am shortways in my own journey and reading c-l-a-s-h's post has inspired me to keep going even further with this, I hope you all manage to reach your goals and strive for the stars.

Cold showers all the way for me right now, cheer all...I know you guys can do it.

    Adieu

To the OP: 252 days is amazing, somewhere I hope to be in, well, 240 days or so :)

Don't use the urge that you feel to act out. What was happening when you had the urge, what was the trigger?

I agree with Sean: I think urges will be with us for many years, maybe forever. It's how you approach and deal with them that counts.

Not viewing porn. That's more detrimental to me than jerking off. And it might be because I've stopped taking cold showers recently. After around 250 days I was just recently like, "Fuck it." Might be affecting.

It's not about how many days ... but staying strong on a day to day basis. You have chosen a lifestyle minus PMO and you choose to live by that every single day, for YOU, not for some notch.

But what caused you to think that? You've been fine for the last, what, eight months. What's changed? Is there a void that you need to fill?
